Struggling to Survive the Bugs in a Period Novel [Mystery]

Policewoman Zuo Ting dies in an explosion. When she wakes up, she finds herself on a plane.

The plane isn't particularly luxurious, but one thing is clear: she's in first class.

A flight attendant is pouring her wine, while a chef slices roast duck at the galley counter.

Zuo Ting looks around. Everyone is a stranger, dressed to the nines, and the stern-looking man beside her is even more handsome than a movie star...

What's going on?

As she puzzles it out, she enjoys a feast alongside that stunning face.

Roast duck, salmon...

"Boom..." The plane suddenly explodes.

The agonizing pain knocks her out. When she wakes again, she's back in her original seat, and a flight attendant is gently calling her awake.

The whole thing is bizarre. Zuo Ting refuses to sit around and wait for death, and immediately takes action.

After finding out the handsome man's name, she figures out her situation: she's transmigrated into a period novel called I Married My Ex's Uncle After Being Reborn.

The handsome man is Xi Yan, the heroine's unattainable, prematurely deceased first love, a powerful figure who is constantly mentioned by the other characters.

To stay alive, Zuo Ting uses every trick she can think of and teams up with Xi Yan to escape the deadly plane. They become police officers in the novel and settle into peaceful lives.

But the heroine's first love is still alive, and there is no love story between her and her ex. A major plot hole has appeared. To make the story logically consistent, the novel's system initiates a purge, and the two find themselves in danger again...

Xi Yan asks, "Do you want to live?"

Zuo Ting nods. "I do."

Xi Yan says, "I'll give you a chance. Guess what I most want to do after we get out of here."

Zuo Ting, a complete novice at romance, says, "You can't know what's in someone's heart. How would I know what you want to do?"

Xi Yan drops the act and presses his index finger to Zuo Ting's lips. "Do you know now?"

Zuo Ting: "..."
