Six Gates: A Dream Uncovers a Murder Case

Heroine's story: Liu Xun is the daughter of a constable. For years, she has had the same nightmare. In the dream, a gleaming steel blade thrusts straight toward a middle-aged woman. She watches helplessly as hot, scarlet blood splashes all over her face... She told her grandfather about the dream. He said it was nothing to worry about, and she should go pray at a temple. But the temple did nothing to solve her problem. Instead, the dreams only grew worse. She even began dreaming about murder victims, which led her to solve major cases and get hired as a female constable at the county yamen. It wasn't until her parents were brutally killed at the City God Temple that the blood awakened her remaining memories. The dreams had been real! Her parents weren't her biological parents, and her younger brother wasn't her real brother. Then who was she? To uncover the truth and avoid being silenced, Liu Xun fled to the capital with her little brother, beginning an unknown journey. Hero's story: Everyone knows that Qin Wuyou, heir to the Duke of Zhenguo, is disliked by his family. He's no good at either literature or martial arts and is only skilled at painting. He's a famous artist at one of the capital's brothels. Few know that he likes examining corpses and often works as a coroner at the yamen late at night. As an artist, he is handsome and elegant, known as the Jade-Faced Gentleman. As a coroner, he is grim-faced and secretive, known as the Ghost-Faced Judge. Liu Xun has seen both of Qin Wuyou's faces, yet never suspected they belonged to the same person, until they crossed paths over an old case... P.S. The heroine has amnesia and gains the golden finger of being able to see the deceased's final words. There are no fantasy elements. Alternate-history setting, 2022.5.20. The blurb has been screenshotted. Theme: Persevere and never give up.
