Tao Zha was born prematurely. His mother was frail, and his father was timid and taciturn. Their whole family was ignored and mocked by the people in their alley.

That left Tao Zha with an unhealthy mindset from a young age. He hated everyone and envied them all.

But on the surface, he seemed unbelievably sweet and well-behaved, as cute and lovable as a little ball of glutinous rice. When he smiled, he made people want to rip out their own hearts and give them to him.

Then his diary was discovered by the older boy next door:

Tao Zha pouted. “I didn’t really want you to die. I was just jealous of you.”

Lin Mei smiled. “It’s okay if you want me to die, too.”
