Who Taught You Dragons to Court Like This?!

Luo Ling is a villain in a xianxia novel. Her job is to cause trouble and help the male and female leads fall in love. Once they attain the Great Dao and kill her with a single sword strike, she can retire and enjoy her old age.

One day, in the pouring rain, a sword pierced straight through her chest.

After achieving fame and fortune, she disappeared into the jianghu. She raced around the mountains, laughing, then tripped and fell. By chance, she picked up a badly wounded dragon.

Believing that saving one life is worth more than building a seven-story pagoda, Luo Ling dragged him home.

To keep the dying dragon alive, Luo Ling diligently began her dragon-raising plan, caring for him and showering him with warmth.

But she never expected the dragon's gaze to grow darker by the day.

Once the dragon had recovered, Luo Ling smiled at him and said goodbye. "I'm off to wander the jianghu. You should head home."

The dragon stood in the moonlight, tall and straight in black, his features sharply defined and his dark eyes quietly fixed on her.

Then he drew his sword.

In a cold voice, he said, "Fight me."

Luo Ling: "???"

Do you want to listen to yourself for a second!

Before she could say another word, he charged at her with his sword. He chased her across the four seas and eight wildernesses, determined to make her draw her sword and fight him.

At last, she could take no more and drew her sword. As expected, she lost. When she woke up, luminous pearls hung high in the depths of the cave residence, and red silk covered the floor.

Xuan Yuan stood tall and graceful. His usual indifference was gone, and the tips of his ears had turned red as he took her hand.

"My wife."

"..."

Luo Ling fell silent as she watched two little dragon horns quietly sprout from his forehead in his joy.

*

Dragons are devoted in love, but domineering and drawn to strength. They court by fighting. If they win, their opponent accepts them and becomes their mate.

Luo Ling, in full meltdown mode: "You call fighting courtship?"

*The male lead's thought process is wonderfully odd. This is a sweet romance, with little focus on the plot.

*It's a short story: she runs, he chases. A goofy, adorable little treat.
