Xi Ze Youhe is an ordinary citizen of Yokohama, as well as a chronic procrastinator who spends every day sparring with her editor.
Her excuses for asking for time off are always bizarre.
For example... transmigrating to another world, getting stuck with a long-armed, green-eyed cat all day, and then running into a murder case.
And that's not even the strangest part. To avoid submitting her manuscript, she once claimed she liked Ikebukuro's Headless Rider so much that she fell asleep hugging him and overslept, completely forgetting that her manuscript was due that day.
Editor: ...
The editor leaped to his feet and flipped the table. "Who would believe that?! Who would ever believe that?! You think I don't know about Ikebukuro's urban legends?! Hey, Miss Xi Ze!"
And what was this about a young man who nearly drowned, whom she had rescued, clinging to her now?
Hey, hey, hey! He's still underage, isn't he? Miss Xi Ze, giving him alcohol is illegal, right? Definitely, right?! Hey!
Miss Xi Ze, if you don't submit your manuscript, I'm really calling the police! I really am!!!
The editor clutched his computer screen and shook it in despair.
Then one day, he discovered that the "drowning young man" Miss Xi Ze had mentioned was actually an executive in Yokohama's Port Mafia, and that the long-armed, green-eyed cat was Edogawa Ranpo, Yokohama's famous detective, among other things.
Editor: ...
The editor looked at Miss Xi Ze, lounging on the sofa and lazily twirling her hair, and finally broke down completely.
Xi Ze Youhe rested her chin on her hand and smiled brightly. "See? I told you all of that was true~"
And just when the editor thought he had been through enough to leave his naive old self behind...
One morning, the person who opened the door for him turned out to be that very same "drowning young man," now a former Port Mafia executive.
The editor, who had seen it all, gave him a dismissive look.
Hmph. Is that all?
"Oh, Editor, what happened to your glasses?"
The editor touched his shattered glasses in shock, then expertly took a brand-new pair from his pocket and put them on.
"It's fine. They're only glasses."
