Little Schemes of the Green-Tea Supporting Role

[The bonus IF storyline, featuring the original novel’s villainous heroine, is closely connected to the awakened heroine’s main story. Read them together for the complete story.]

Lin Yao awakens and discovers that she is the green-tea best friend character in a book, the heroine Shi Nian’s friend who schemes to frame her every day and even competes with her for men.

Lin Yao takes one look at the plot and is speechless.

People, does anyone get it? If your best friend is the heroine, who spends all day competing with her for men?

Are you missing half your brain, or is your cerebellum underdeveloped?

So, on the very first day after awakening, Lin Yao grabs some snacks and knocks on the door of the Shi siblings next door, who have just lost their parents.

At school, when someone bullies the heroine, Shi Nian, Lin Yao is the first to step in and fight back.

When the school’s resident delinquent won’t leave the heroine alone, Lin Yao sweetly swings a wooden stick, knocks him out, and rescues her.

Before long, Lin Yao becomes Shi Nian’s best friend, eager to pluck the stars from the sky for her.

Unfortunately, Shi Nian has a little brother who can see right through green tea tricks: Shi Yu.

Whatever Lin Yao does, Shi Yu always likes to watch her with those deep, dark eyes.

It really gets in the way of Lin Yao spending time with the heroine.

After thinking it over, Lin Yao decides to start quietly poisoning Shi Yu against himself.

While moving things, she says in a sweet voice, “It’s okay, I can manage on my own.”

The heroine feels sorry for her and calls Shi Yu over to do the heavy lifting, then scolds him for not working hard enough.

At dinner, Lin Yao deliberately burns Shi Yu’s portion, then sniffles, “It’s all my fault for being so clumsy. I can’t even cook.”

The heroine comforts her, saying it isn’t her fault, then turns around and glares at Shi Yu, ordering him to cook for Lin Yao every day from now on.

Shi Yu looks at her coldly, curls his lip, and clicks his tongue. “What a green tea.”

Lin Yao clings to the heroine’s arm with tears in her eyes. “Oh, Sis, look how mean he is. Unlike me, all I know how to do is care about you.”

After that, Lin Yao doesn’t set foot in the kitchen for the rest of the summer.

She spends the whole season eating Shi Yu’s cooking.

After the college entrance exam results come out, all three get into the same prestigious university.

At a college gathering, the campus heartthrob from another department gathers his courage and confesses to Lin Yao.

As the heroine and everyone else cheer them on, Lin Yao blushes and lowers her head, about to politely turn him down with a few sugary words.

Shi Yu appears and carries her out in front of everyone.

In the stairwell, he wraps his arms tightly around Lin Yao’s waist and buries his face in the hollow of her neck, his breath hot enough to burn. “Lin Yao, when you kissed me last night, you promised to be my wife.”

Lin Yao, who got drunk last night: “…”

Shi Nian, who just came rushing out and saw her little brother holding her best friend: What’s going on???

Everyone says the Shi siblings from No. 3 High got the rags-to-riches script. Their parents died in a car accident, but the two siblings had one lucky break after another, eventually reaching the top of the world and being reunited with their wealthy grandfather.

But no one knows that after their parents died, they were left with huge debts. Their relatives fled, and the siblings nearly starved to death at home.

Then the pretty little girl next door came knocking on the Shi family’s door, carrying snacks.

She was like a tiny star appearing in the darkest part of the night, a gentle flicker that landed right in their hearts.

Reader’s guide:

A sweet-faced but sharp-eyed guy who sees through green tea tricks x a soft, stubborn little green tea

Partly set at school, with the high school section making up about 40% (hopefully). The leads only start dating as adults.

Content notes:

A romance-focused transmigration-into-a-book story with lots of romance, mostly about the couple, with a little ensemble cast. Not a strong heroine, not a powerful heroine, and not a wish-fulfillment story. The heroine is a genuinely soft girl. In the bonus original-novel IF storyline, the heroine really is a wicked green tea villainess who follows the original plot without awakening. Read the main story and bonus together for the complete picture.

New story now available: “Forbidden Heartbeats”

[Sweet, obedient girl x refined, depraved, dark obsessive]

Mixed-heritage height difference | Foster-home crush | Cruel possessiveness | High-stakes push and pull

1. Li Tang has had a strange condition since childhood: severe pretty-face possessiveness syndrome. Its symptoms include shortness of breath, blushing, and a racing heart whenever she sees Pei Hanyu. The only cure is to possess him.

Later, she moves in with the Pei family.

One day, Pei Hanyu steps out of the shower, wrapped in a towel. He braces one hand on the counter behind her, trapping her between the vanity and his tall frame.

He warns her in a low voice not to come home late.

Li Tang obediently nods, her face burning as she quietly presses her thighs together.

She spots the black tie, which should have been fastened snugly beneath the man’s Adam’s apple, tossed carelessly on one side of the sofa along with his suit jacket.

Late that night, on the big bed, Li Tang sees Pei Hanyu’s cold, sharply defined face before her. She clenches her teeth around the black tie he used, whimpering and trembling until she reaches her peak.

She thinks, I have to make Pei Hanyu mine.

2. Pei Hanyu is widely regarded in elite circles as a powerful, distinguished man, reserved and free of worldly desires. He never wastes time on romance.

But one thick, heavy night, glass bottles shatter across the floor.

Li Tang is carried in front of a full-length mirror. The man’s long, pale fingers lift her chin as he gazes at the girl in the mirror, cheeks flushed and eyes misty with tears. His voice is hoarse.

“Li Tang, look carefully.”

He is utterly cruel, revealing the dark possessiveness beneath his polished exterior as he takes control of her from behind.

A winding crack appears in the mirror.

3. Later, everyone knows Pei Hanyu has a little shadow trailing after him.

Just as people begin to speculate about their relationship, word gets out that the eldest Pei heir has reached marrying age and is accepting the family’s matchmaking arrangements.

The little girl he usually dotes on turns red-eyed and grabs his suit sleeve.

“Can’t you stay?”

A moment later, he coolly pulls her hand from his sleeve. His voice is ice-cold. “What do you think?”

After leaving Pei Hanyu, Li Tang decides she needs treatment for her condition.

She sees a psychologist and tries hard to forget Pei Hanyu.

The first time she meets the psychologist, Li Tang is stunned by how handsome he is.

After hearing what Li Tang has been through, the doctor says, “You seem to have a serious case of being love-struck.”

Li Tang: “How did this happen, darling?”

Psychologist: ?

Pei Hanyu at the door: …

4. Later, when she and her fiancé are about to get engaged, she arrives at the venue and sees an all-too-familiar figure.

The man is dressed in a suit, tall and straight-backed. His face is still cool and distinguished, but beneath his eyes lies an unbearable, dark possessiveness.

“Sugar said she’d only ever love me.”

“Be good, baby. Call me hubby.”

#The heroine made up the “condition” during her edgy phase. Don’t treat it as a real-life disorder.

#The heroine pursues the hero at first. He seems restrained and proper, but inside he’s dark, twisted, and fiercely controlling. It looks like she’s chasing him, but he’s actually completely in love with her, the kind who’d die without her. Top-tier dog training, with a groveling arc. The blurb can’t convey everything, so try the first two chapters.

#One-on-one romance, with a seven-year age gap between the leads.

Theme: Saving each other, warming each other, and spreading positive energy.
