A fleeting affair | A possessive, coercive romance
Tan He and He Jin once shared a secret affair.
By day, he was the company's much-feared new boss, parachuted in from the capital, the young heir of the He family in the capital, with real power in his hands and a cold disposition.
She was merely a junior employee in a low-level department, quiet and reserved at work, never saying much.
No one would ever have connected the two of them.
But only Tan He knew what He Jin was really like in private.
Late at night, he would hold her in his arms, his palm stroking her waist as his thin lips kissed hers, at first gently, then more deeply. He whispered words of passion and arrogant possessiveness in her ear.
“Did you ignore my calls on purpose?”
“Stay away from that new male intern in your department.”
“Come upstairs and have lunch with me tomorrow.”
Tan He didn't want to answer, so she silenced his incessant chatter with a kiss.
They had agreed that she and He Jin were just a fleeting affair, so why was he becoming more and more controlling?
At last, his six-month inspection period ended, and He Jin was due to return to the capital.
On the night he was leaving, the man came back through the rain. His eyes held a meaning she couldn't understand as he asked, “Do you want to come with me?”
Standing inside the doorway, Tan He firmly shook her head. “Goodbye, Mr. He.”
He Jin's expression darkened. “Tan He, don't regret this.”
She watched him leave in a huff and wondered why she would regret it. She had known from the very beginning that theirs was a relationship of mutual convenience. Once it ended, there would be no future for them.

After putting that absurd chapter of her life behind her, Tan He decided to follow her elders' wishes and settle down through a match arranged by her family.
Accompanying her arranged date to a company banquet, Tan He never expected to see He Jin again. In the banquet hall, filled with clinking glasses, everyone vied to flatter the guest of honor.
Nervous and uneasy, she saw He Jin's cold, indifferent expression, as though he didn't know her at all, and felt relieved.
The banquet continued in full swing.
Her date looked around, but Tan He was nowhere to be found.
On the open-air terrace, Tan He was forced to retreat step by step until her back hit the railing and she had nowhere left to go.
The tall man boxed her in, his voice harsh. “Dump him!”
Tan He took a deep breath and struggled to turn her face away. “Mr. He, please show some restraint.”
He Jin gripped her chin and forced her to look up. Jealousy and anger, unlike anything she had ever seen, roiled in his eyes.
“I can't restrain myself, Tan He.”
“You know I'm a bastard.”
“We haven't kissed in three months. I want to kiss you.”

Childhood sweethearts | A possessive, coercive romance | She runs, he chases
[Cold, volatile childhood friend × gentle, timid childhood sweetheart]
Back then, five-year-old Shi Xi moved with her remarried mother from an urban village into a villa neighborhood, then was brought into the rich kids' social circle by her half-sister.
The young masters and ladies grew up together as childhood friends, innocent and inseparable.
As adults, they fulfilled their families' wishes by entering arranged marriages, often choosing from among the same group of friends.
Although Shi Xi was nominally the second daughter of the Qin family, she was really just her older sister's sidekick: timid, gentle, obedient, and forgettable.
The Xie family was a century-old clan. Its heir, Xie Qingyue, was one of the most prominent figures among the younger generation: a favored son of heaven, aloof and arrogant, and not to be crossed.
Even Shi Xi's older sister warned her that Xie Qingyue was the person in their social circle she must never offend. “You need to stay away from him.”
Shi Xi wanted nothing more than to stay away from him. The farther, the better.
Everyone said Xie Qingyue was cold, an ice block that could never be warmed.
Only Shi Xi knew how scorching hot that ice could be.
With the door shut, he was clingy and insatiable. He especially loved biting the little mole on the back of her neck, leaving tooth marks.
Getting involved with Xie Qingyue was the thing Shi Xi regretted most. She wanted to run.
But she didn't know that Xie Qingyue had already seen through her supposedly airtight plan.
On a stormy night, Shi Xi had just pulled open the car door and climbed inside. Before she could celebrate her successful escape, she suddenly met a pair of familiar, unfathomably deep eyes.
“Surprise, baby. Good evening.”
The man tapped the leather seat with his long, slender fingers, looking unconcerned. “Do you know where this car is going?”
He leaned toward her, his fingertip brushing her frightened, cold cheek. “A beautiful island, where there'll be only the two of us.”
“You dared to provoke me. You dared to play with me.”
He lowered his head, his lips against the tip of her ear, his voice soft as a sigh. “Then we'll see it through to the end. We stop only when I say so.”
Theme: Treat love with sincerity
I hope that this kind of thing can be solved by the male protagonist instead of having to let the female protagonist perform. And it would be fine if the male protagonist wanted to go to that dinner party. . .
If the hero wants to go, he can also ask the heroine to go on a blind date later. It would be indecent to come and not return.
