Inferior Prey

A sweet, ambitious career fanatic with a deceptive, dark side * a scheming, opportunistic bad woman with grand ambitions

No alphabet soup. Probably a bit of space opera and cyberpunk... maybe.

As a colonel in the Alliance military and a killing machine dedicated to hunting down separatists, Lin Yuefeng could tell at a glance that the girl she'd thrown in prison years ago, Hurst, had now been impersonated by a separatist.

The separatist had taken Hurst's identity by altering her iris and DNA data. She was mild-mannered, smooth, and utterly meticulous.

Lin Yuefeng knew everything, but she was happy to play this game of cat and mouse with the separatist whose real name and appearance she didn't know.

Seasoned hunters often toy with their prey. Lin Yuefeng admitted she was interested in her.

Then the Alliance military fell. Lin Yuefeng was hunted by separatists and forced to hide from place to place. At one hideout, she saw a beautiful woman whose appearance was completely different from Hurst's walk toward her, backlit. The woman frowned slightly and looked down at her.

Lin Yuefeng managed a familiar smile. "Hello, my Hurst."

The separatist curled her lips. She looked sweet and innocent, but her eyes held a boundless, unfathomable universe.

"I've got a great idea, Colonel Lin. Why don't you just die right now?"

Lin Yuefeng now understood this much: The best hunters usually disguise themselves as prey.
