The Rain Never Lets Up in My Hometown

[An early work. My writing skills aren't yet up to handling the rest of the story, so updates will be sporadic.]

[I'll definitely revise and complete it someday. This book has a tragic ending.]

Smiling, scheming villainous leader Gong Jiang Guli x conflicted, celibate, icy general Shou Xiao Yuxie

Xiao Yuxie was summoned back to the capital from the border to investigate a series of recent attacks on officials by the "Poison Scorpions."

While investigating, he ran into Jiang Guli, a young man who had once helped him. Impressed by his talent and feeling an instant kinship with him, Xiao Yuxie decided to travel with him.

As unrest spread, a popular uprising broke out at the border, with people seeking to overthrow the court's tyranny. Xiao Yuxie was ordered to suppress the rebellion, only to be ambushed by a Poison Scorpion assassin.

After several encounters, Xiao Yuxie was stunned to discover that the head of the Poison Scorpions was none other than his old friend, Jiang Guli!

Theme: A general serves the country and its people, not the ruler.
