The moment Teng Fushi opened his eyes, he found someone lying beside him who looked about seventy to eighty percent like him. Before he could think it through, a cold, mechanical female voice echoed through the lightless chamber.

"Welcome, players, to the Divine Anecdotes Record. Please draw cards in turn to obtain your identity information."

Teng Fushi didn't draw a card, but the two remaining cards automatically appeared in his and the other man's hands.

Teng Fushi raised an eyebrow. Looking at the colorful clown in his hand, he instinctively glanced up at Shen Yuzhao. As it happened, the other man was looking at him with interest too. Then, in perfect unison, they turned over their playing cards.

Holding a gray clown card, Shen Yuzhao gave an inscrutable laugh. "What a coincidence."

Teng Fushi smiled too. "It sure is."

Even more coincidentally, they had both drawn the cards for the two teams' captains, as well as the two protagonist cards.

A poor princess lies asleep, waiting for a handsome, brave prince to awaken him with a kiss of true love.

Teng, the poor princess, Fushi: Here's a joke. I'm cosplaying as Sleeping Beauty in an escape game.

Shen, the handsome prince, Yuzhao: Ha! Whoever wants to be the prince can do it. Even if I died, I wouldn't kiss him.

In the unknown darkness of night, Shen Yuzhao pins the "sleeping princess" against the wall. His voice is hoarse, and his dark eyes fix on him like he's prey within reach.

"Captain Teng, this time it's a real kiss of true love. How about a kiss?"

No one answers in the still night. The only sound is a faint, labored breath.
