After the Cool Beauty Caught the Eye of a Powerful Tycoon

Si Wei is the eldest son of the distinguished Si family. With his striking beauty and cool, refined air, he's widely regarded as the great beauty of their social circle. One glance over his shoulder is enough to make hearts flutter.

When word got out that the Si family planned to use Si Wei for an arranged marriage, visitors came knocking in droves. Some even flew in from overseas on private jets, hoping to seize the chance to pluck this untouchable flower.

Si Wei is in poor health, and his only value to the family is as a marriage prospect.

Every day, he meets different men and discusses literature and art with them. They shower him with elegant compliments, letting him see how shallow their affection is.

The family is only waiting to choose the richest, most powerful man who offers the highest price.

Until one day, a tall, brutish man came to the house. He had sharply defined features and a wolfish, predatory gaze.

He had built a vast business empire from nothing by his early thirties, powerful enough to make the declining Si family wary.

At their first meeting, the man's gaze was sharp and brazen, as if he were appraising a commodity.

He paid no heed to Si Wei's beauty.

He sneered at literature, art, and romance.

He was rude and arrogant. Ten minutes into their meeting, he told Si Wei, "You'd make a suitable wife for me."

Si Wei rejected him without hesitation.

Si Wei had never met anyone so overbearing. The man clearly looked down on him, yet still wanted to seize him and make him his own.

He even wanted Si Wei to love him.

Luo Chenyuan had only wanted to find a well-behaved, obedient wife from a distinguished family to help him deal with a few problems.

When he met Si Wei, he was startled by Si Wei's beauty, but also quietly worried whether such a pretty, pampered young master could handle the responsibilities of being his wife.

After all, young heirs with a little privilege like this were usually arrogant and empty-headed.

Fortunately, after talking with him, Luo Chenyuan found Si Wei reasonably well-mannered, gentle, and accommodating. So he took the opportunity to state what he wanted.

In his view, the Si family had a great reputation but was little more than an empty shell. Si Wei was beautiful and easygoing, so both would be easy to control.

He was certain no one could offer better terms. He never expected Si Wei to reject him and scold him for being arrogant and ill-mannered.

Seeing Si Wei suddenly grow proud and haughty, Luo Chenyuan thought that he had to get this beautiful white peacock into his cage, where it would spread its feathers for him alone.
