The Shapeshifter Is a Natural at Romance

What’s it like to accidentally reveal early in the story that you know about the wish-granting machine on Kukuroo Mountain? Thanks for asking. I’m at death’s door. Let me figure out how to survive tonight, then I’ll get back to you. I’m a corporate drone with a house, a car, savings, and a housing fund. After transmigrating, I vowed never to start from scratch in this dark, dangerous world where you’re all alone and death could come at any time. I did my best to gather information, carefully dodge death flags, work hard to pay off my debts, and make friends with cats and dogs with all my heart. Sure, Hisoka showed up along the way and followed me around, making things worse instead of helping, but everything was moving along smoothly, with a real chance of getting home. Until Hisoka blabbed my secret to Illumi. Hisoka, you big mouth! Why do you tell him everything?! Not long after, Kurollo blabbed another one of my secrets to Illumi. Kurollo, you big mouth! Whatever happened to professional ethics? Why tell Illumi everything?! Then Illumi dug up yet another secret on his own. Young master, you’re amazing. No wonder you’re the young master. Such impressive investigative skills. (Read in a flat voice.) ...What are you looking at? I told you, I’m a corporate drone. Overnight, I went from being a free man to Illumi’s puppet. I had to make money for the eldest son of the Zoldyck family, while also putting up with the young master’s friend, the very person who got me into this mess in the first place, pestering me whenever he felt like it. I was risking my life, physically and mentally exhausted. My biggest wish in the short term wasn’t to get home. I just wanted some time off. Illumi agreed and gave me three unpaid days off. “With my mental state, I only get three days off? And they’re unpaid? At least give me three months, young master!!” Illumi: Sure. If you accidentally get pregnant while playing with Hisoka, you can take three months off. Illumi: But I’m keeping the child. Hisoka: Don’t I get a say? Illumi: You two are in an improper relationship. Of course everything belongs to the Zoldycks. “Let’s put aside the custody of this nonexistent baby for a moment. So, is the leave paid, young master?” Illumi fell silent for a long while, then turned and walked away. Hisoka: Want me to help? Three months. “Get lost.” Even though the blurb makes the eldest young master look like the lead, unless something unexpected happens, it should be Hisoka. Hisoka won’t be in a state of constant excitement. I’ve added a little reason and a little emotional intelligence, at the cost of a small amount of morality. (Take away too much and he won’t have any left.) In other words, he’s a mean-spirited bastard. Usually I update for three days and rest for one. If I post every day, you can count it as an extra chapter, okay? _(:з"∠)_ Coming soon (this is what I plan to write next ↓) [Starting a Second Run with Hisoka and Illumi] An alternate version of the bad ending of “Transmuters Are Great at Romance” (original title: “Hisoka Makes Things Difficult for Me”): Bad news: I failed to get home. Good news: I closed my eyes, opened them again, and found myself back at the Hunter Exam. I’d somehow started a second run! What is this?! This is the second chance heaven has given me! Now I know what’s going to happen in this world, and I know all the key steps I need to take to get home! Great! This time, I’m definitely making it home!! Just like the first time, the examinees led by the examiner ran past me in a noisy crowd. But for some reason, no one screamed behind us this time. A familiar figure burst out of the forest and stopped as he ran past me. Me: ...? Hisoka: ... Me: ...! Hisoka: ~☆ Then another familiar figure up ahead suddenly turned back and stopped beside us. Me: ...? Illumi: ... Me: ...! Illumi: Click, click, click. [Swear word] [swear word] [swear word] [swear word] [swear word] [swear word] [swear word]!!!!! Bad news: These two are on their second runs too, aaahhhh!!!! Theme: Don’t give up when things get difficult. Keep doing your best every day
