[Historical RPF / Fuchai X Goujian] A Slave in This Life

Original title/also known as: I Was a Slave in Wu

Burdened with heavy shackles, I trekked a thousand miles, escorted from Yue to Wu to become a slave.

The victors played their triumphant songs, while the defeated sank into the dust.

We had no personal grudge against each other. The only thing between us was our countries' opposing sides.

Amid all the chaos, I successfully got a job (as a slave). But isn't he really just trying to spite his dead father?

King Fuchai of Wu x King Goujian of Yue

Overbearing, devilish seme with a heart as clear as a mirror x Cool, gloomy uke who loves putting on an act

A Foreigner's Work Diary, or, A Slave's Diary, or, The King of Yue's Ordeal

(I absolutely love both the TV drama and the novel version of The Great Revival. This can also be read as fanfiction for the drama.)

Note: This story has a clear CP pairing. Please leave if it isn't to your taste.

This is historical fanfiction and does not promise to follow historical facts.

The writing style fluctuates, and the tone is all over the place.

All the seme and uke traits listed in the blurb above are nonsense.

Who knows how much I wanted to write about Wu and Yue when I was a kid. So many years later, I've finally posted one, though I do have a few other stories in storage.

Theme: An overworked employee at the bottom of society struggles against hardship
