I’m the Stand-In for the Beloved Female Lead

Possessive Pursuit | Old-School Melodrama | Love Rivals and Groveling

Lin Zhi is beautiful, but comes from a humble background.

Because her expression is strikingly similar to that of a rich young lady, she becomes a stand-in for three or four men.

Passed from one man to another, she is finally cast aside when the young lady returns from abroad.

But on the night before Lin Zhi leaves, her belly begins to swell.

More troublesome than carrying a child whose father is unknown is the fact that Lin Zhi accidentally discovers she is living inside a sugary, everyone-loves-the-heroine romance novel.

She is the cannon-fodder supporting character in this story, whose only purpose is to show how deeply the male leads dote on the heroine.

The male leads will punish Lin Zhi over some small thing that makes the heroine frown. They'll abandon her when she is gravely ill to go see the heroine. And if Lin Zhi and the heroine are kidnapped together, they'll choose the heroine.

Once the child is born, Lin Zhi's purpose will be fulfilled.

She will die on a rainy night, while the heroine and the male leads live happily ever after.

But when that night finally comes, a pair of hands forcibly pulls Lin Zhi out of the abyss.

Some cast you aside like a weed, while others treasure you like a jewel.

Reader's Guide:

1. A gentle, cool, fragile beauty of a heroine x obsessive, possessive, unhinged male leads. All the male leads are devoted to her.

2. The story is one woman with multiple men from beginning to end. No sharing-a-bed ending.

3. The male leads are all possessive, controlling, and unhinged, but they're faithful and have only ever loved the heroine [emphasis]. Modern fictional setting, with no illegal or immoral conduct. Possessive pursuit, love rivals and groveling, a dark and twisted everyone-loves-the-heroine story. An indulgent fantasy written to the author's own tastes.

Theme: Move with the world, but keep your own light.
