Also known as “What Do I Do When My Husband and Ex-Husbands Start Fighting??”
*
Her first marriage was to a gentle, refined poor scholar. He went to the capital to sit the imperial exam and was never heard from again.
Her second marriage was to a taciturn general, cold-natured and fierce in battle. His fate is still unknown. She laid his spear in his coffin, held his funeral, and was then granted another marriage by the new Emperor, this time to the Emperor's uncle, a young prince.
The prince was young, conceited about his own talent, and picky about everything. He was certain his bride had three flaws:
First, she was old.
Second, she had been married before.
Third, she was too quiet.
On their wedding day, the young prince got drunk and stayed in the guest room, leaving his bride alone in the bridal chamber. Someone asked, “Aren't you going to see your wife? What if you like her? Why make things so unpleasant?”
The prince rested his cheek on one hand, one leg bent as he lounged lazily on the bed. He said dismissively, “What's there to see? I'll just pretend she doesn't exist. Everything will carry on as usual.”
Who could have guessed that after just two months of marriage and three brief meetings, he'd eat his words and become the capital's most famous henpecked husband?
“Wifey” this, “Wifey” that. He wants kisses and hugs. The young prince is no longer rebellious or willful. Wonderful!
But the good times don't last. Just as the couple are deeply in love, three huge pieces of bad news spread through the capital:
1. The new top scholar suddenly regains his memories and refuses to marry the Chancellor's daughter, going so far as to kneel in public.
2. The general has returned alive.
3. They're all coming to the prince's mansion to find his wife!!!!!
Heroine: ...?
Prince: Get lost!!!
No one! Is taking my wife from me! Every last one of you can die!
