The Ninth Fujin's Daily Life of Demanding a Divorce (Qing Dynasty Transmigration)

Landlady Ye Jingjing unexpectedly transmigrates into the body of Dong'e, the principal consort of the Ninth Prince, Yin Tang. Knowing that she is destined for a tragic end, Ye Jingjing treats Yin Tang with nothing but cold glares. Yin Tang: "...You won't show me any respect at home, and now you act the same way outside. How are we supposed to live like this? What happened to being dignified and virtuous?" Ye Jingjing: "So what if you can't stand me? Go ahead and submit a memorial asking for a divorce if you dare!" A divorce? Not a chance! Ye Jingjing keeps acting out and demanding a divorce, and the more she makes a fuss, the less Yin Tang wants to give her what she wants. What can he do? Put up with it. Before long, people outside the Ninth Prince's residence notice that things have changed. The Ninth Prince used to be close with the Eighth Lord's faction, but now he's growing closer to the Fourth Lord's household. The Ninth Prince used to be the Eighth Lord's faction's moneybag. Now the moneybag is in the Ninth Princess's hands, and like a Pixiu, it only takes money in and never lets any out. The nobles of the imperial clan all mock Yin Tang for being henpecked. Back home, Yin Tang sulks. "I'm a prince, after all. It isn't right for me to go out without a bit of silver in my pocket." Ye Jingjing: "Don't waste money. We'll need it for something important." Yin Tang complains: "I couldn't spend all the money I earn in a lifetime. Why be so frugal? You just want to keep my money from me." Hah, what does he know? What good is money if he's dead? Though she's already managed to get the Fourth Prince on her side, Ye Jingjing still doesn't feel secure. Instead of letting Yin Tang squander their money, she would rather use it to support craftsmen and build ships. If things go south, they can always flee overseas by sea. Yin Tang looks conflicted. "Even if I accidentally offend Fourth Brother, he's not that petty, is he?" Ye Jingjing rolls her eyes. "Right, right, your Fourth Brother is incredibly generous. Such a broad-minded man." My next novel, The Daily Life of an Impoverished Qing Imperial Clan Girl, is coming soon. Please add it to your collection! Blurb: Aisin Gioro Changle is a great-granddaughter of the Qing dynasty's founder, Nurhaci. In terms of family ties, Kangxi is her paternal cousin, and Yongzheng is her older cousin. But when it comes to reality, she's merely the daughter of a sixth-rank official in the Imperial Clan Court. Other imperial clan girls have fine clothes and endless gold and silver to spend. She, on the other hand, has to be frugal and work out how her father's few taels of monthly salary can feed the whole family well and still let them live with a little dignity. The women in her family worry about household expenses all day, while her father tells her, "A true scholar finds joy in poverty and the Way." Changle is just an ordinary person from the modern world who transmigrated here. She doesn't want to be a scholar so poor she can hear her purse rattle. She just wants to be an ordinary person who never has to worry about money. In the forty-seventh year of Kangxi's reign, her family begins looking for a husband for her. Knowing what she wants, her mother insists that her father find her a well-off son-in-law. A few days later, a family comes to propose marriage. Changle sneaks a look and sees a tall, thin scholar, more handsome than her father, whose salary is also higher. When she makes inquiries, she hears that he isn't a true scholar poor enough to hear his purse rattle. Her mother says happily, "This scholar seems like a fine choice. You can marry him!"
