Zerg Star Calamity: I, the Octopus, Become a God

For "Insectoid: Demons and Monsters, Don't Leave," here's the writing motivation for the second book. There's also a fourth calamity novel in my collection, please add it to your favorites!

Xie Zhen was eating octopus at a buffet when he unexpectedly transmigrated into the insectoid world as an octopus half-insect on the run.

Stranded on a desolate planet where surviving after a stellar disaster was hellishly difficult, Xie Zhen had just one wish:

Latch onto a beautiful, powerful benefactor!

As luck would have it, a spaceship exploded overhead, and a handsome man who could be his powerful backer fell straight from the sky!

To cling tightly to his new benefactor, "little female insect" Xie Zhen began to throw himself into danger for his beautiful big brother.

The environment was freezing, so he took the job of a personal hand-warmer, only for his octopus tentacles to get bitten.

A crisis with mutated creatures called for him to serve as a level-three shield, and he nearly died young for the second, or Nth, time.

Even when he tried to care for his big brother during his heat, his brother's frenzied behavior left him speechless.

Though clinging to his benefactor was hard, things were finally looking up, and his affection level was rising fast! Who knew his big brother would want to move to a new area? And the worst part was, he wasn't taking Xie Zhen along!

But that was all right. Xie Zhen understood that if he wanted a story with his big brother, he had to take the initiative.

Once he understood his feelings, he discovered that his big brother was a royal insect, the most exclusive kind of powerful benefactor!

But his brother's troubles, and the insectoid world's troubles, went far beyond the stellar disaster.

The insectoid capital, Parayima:

A horde of aberrants was using the name of the "Insect God" to con people, while the seed of a new god had long since been planted.

When Xie Zhen finally solved every problem through sheer effort and found himself surrounded by insects, he realized...

Wait, what? How did I become the new Insect God?

[Bonus Scene]

Eugene had been an S-rank female insect on the run, almost engaged. Then he got stranded on a desolate planet and picked up a rather dim-witted "female insect little brother."

His little brother was thoughtful and did everything he could to help with his troubles.

That is, until his heat...

Eugene was stunned. "Y-you're not a female insect?"

Xie Zhen finally figured out that he was a male insect. "Wait, yeah. Didn't you say I was a female insect?"

"So, Big Brother, do you like it this hard?"

Eugene: "!@#￥%..."

A few notes:

1. One-on-one romance. Includes octopus-related elements and many original worldbuilding details, so please don't take issue with them.

2. The plot takes up more space than the romance. The story has a canyon survival arc (stellar disaster), a refugee settlement arc (octopus), and a Parayima arc (becoming a god). The romance between the protagonists only begins in the middle to latter part of the refugee settlement arc.

3. I was just starting to write when I worked on the canyon survival arc, and it gets a bit chuuni. I feel the pacing of the whole book could be better, but it's done now, so please bear with me.

4. Note: This is a fictional setting unrelated to reality. Please don't read it as a reflection of real life.

Theme: The protagonist is reborn into an extreme new insectoid world. Through a series of experiences, he breaks with bad customs and outdated ideas, does all he can to support his companions through crises, and works hard to grow into the best version of himself instead of losing himself in the crowd
