To secure his place in the debut lineup, Fang Huaiche added a safer way to attract fans: faking a couple act with Pei Lintian.

Touching, exchanging glances, private pet names, matching couple items... He plotted every step, trying to leave a mark on Pei Lintian's world.

When the pairing proved popular, the production team changed its tune and included Fang Huaiche and Pei Lintian's interactions in bonus footage. The other contestants also started seeking Fang Huaiche out to team up and ask him for singing tips.

Fang Huaiche thought he'd been the only one making advances, until one day Pei Lintian offered to celebrate his birthday alone with him. On the top floor of a luxury hotel, their breaths mingled.

Fang Huaiche heard Pei Lintian say to him:

"Fang Huaiche, I love you. Let's get together after the competition ends."

Warnings and notes: 1. The two have a misunderstanding, but there's no actual deception. During the competition, one is the main dancer and the other is the main vocalist.

2. The competition format is inspired by real-life idol survival shows, but neither protagonist is based on a real person. No real-life inspiration!

3. I want to try a non-linear writing style. This novel has two timelines, present and past. The past is the main timeline, and the present-day timeline will be labeled.

4. There will be scenes of each one's solo fans getting blindsided by their idols' relationship and breaking down when couple fans rub it in their faces. I've written a danmei novel, so cut me some slack.
