[Complete]
The heir to the princedom is gravely ill, with little time left. Remembering how his personal maid, Fu Guanying, has cared for him for years, and pitying her background, he decides to give her a chance at a better life.
He will have her conceive a child with another man. He will claim the child as his own blood, then bring her into his household before he dies and ensure she is safe in the years to come.
As it happens, the heir saves the Crown Prince. The prince is young, handsome, and of noble character, with features much like the heir's. The heir chooses him as his target, then uses a spell to make him lose his memories, so Fu Guanying can pretend to be his wife and conceive a child with him.
The Crown Prince is cold and abstinent. Fu Guanying has to put in some effort before she can share his bed. Through her persistence, her relationship with the prince gradually deepens. They spend a time as inseparable as glue, and when she finally becomes pregnant, she leaves at once.
With a child, everything falls into place. Even after the heir dies, the child gives her a secure footing in the prince's household.
.
Fu Guanying thinks she will never have anything to do with the Crown Prince again, until three years later, when she has to travel to the capital for the Grand Empress Dowager's birthday banquet.
She sees Yu Fanjing again at the banquet. He is the newly enthroned emperor, cold-blooded and unsentimental, wise and just. She is a young widow.
They have little to do with each other.
That secret affair has long since become the past. Fu Guanying trusts the heir's methods and is not worried that the truth will come out. Once the birthday celebrations are over, she plans to return to the prince's household.
But when she returns to her palace quarters, the emperor suddenly appears and forces his way behind her bed curtains, his gaze dark and gloomy.
Fu Guanying freezes, her face turning pale.
The emperor looks down at her, his expression cold as he asks unhurriedly, "Is that child yours and Yu Hengzhi's?"
"What you did was treasonous and deceitful toward the throne. That only adds to your crimes."
.
Fu Guanying is the widowed daughter-in-law of the heir to the Prince of Yu's household. Under the court's rules, a widow may remarry after observing three years of mourning. But she is so devoted to her late husband that she has decided never to marry again, earning everyone's admiration for her chastity.
Yet after the Fu family comes to the capital to attend the Grand Empress Dowager during her illness, Fu Guanying's lower belly inexplicably begins to swell.
PS: New premise. I ran out of inspiration for the original one.
1. A cool, abstinent, aloof beauty, and a gorgeous woman with a slender waist and full hips who gradually becomes a flirt.
2. An alternate world, one-on-one romance. The heroine is emotionally detached and always holds the upper hand in the relationship.
The hero becomes quite forceful later on. There is some coercive pursuit, but not much, and he has to win her back.
3. Content warning: childbirth. I've revised the setup again. The heroine and the second male lead have no relationship beyond her being his maid. She only marries him after becoming pregnant, so the main couple are both virgins.
The premise itself is a content warning. Later, the heroine leaves her second child behind, and the hero becomes a resentful housebound husband who raises the child alone.
Pre-release: The Widow and the Emperor. If you're interested, please add it to your reading list
Liu Yingniang is an utterly ordinary woman. After her husband dies, she has no children and no intention of remarrying. After years as a widow, she is called back by her former mother-in-law, who still feels fondly toward her.
The older lady plans to arrange a new marriage for Yingniang.
After she remarries
Her husband is cold to her during the day, but at night he torments her relentlessly, licking her face over and over with a heart-stopping intensity, as if he means to devour her.
Yingniang cannot understand it.
Until she learns by chance that her husband is impotent and cannot have sex. So who is the man sharing her bed every night?
The emperor spots a plainly dressed woman at a temple tower. Smiling, he gazes down at her.
His long fingers, resting on the railing, twitch.
His trusted aide immediately goes to make inquiries.
When the aide returns, he reports that the woman is surnamed Liu, a widow betrothed to the Vice Minister of Rites. The two families are to be joined in marriage in two months.
The emperor wears an inscrutable smile, an unusual light glimmering in his eyes.
.
Someone advises him to simply take her by force. So what if she is another man's wife?
But the emperor has never liked forcing anyone.
So he disguises himself as a scholar and deliberately approaches the young widow, making several attempts to win her heart. But she is incredibly stubborn.
She keeps insisting that she is about to remarry. Even though she does not like that old man, she still intends to marry him.
Stubborn, dull, boring, and hopelessly obtuse.
The emperor grows annoyed and suppresses his resentment.
She's only a woman, and an old woman over thirty at that.
Later, the emperor sets aside his dignity and status, whispering his heartfelt affections to her again and again. He even lays his heart bare and begs for her tenderness, but she never looks at him.
The emperor hates her. He hates her gentleness and patience, and he hates her coldheartedness. He hates that she does not love him.
One-sided obsession, coercive pursuit, unrequited love, a powerful man lowering his head
Blurb to be revised
A young widow and the new emperor. A madman falls for an honest woman.
The heroine is thirty, a gentle and honest woman who is easy to bully. She and the supporting male character do not marry.
The hero pretends to be a gentle, refined man, but is actually a deranged, obsessive yandere. He falls in love with the heroine at first sight and has an extremely strong desire to possess and control her. He is so unhinged that he wants to dig up her late husband and whip his corpse.
A powerful hero and a vulnerable heroine, a shameless wish-fulfillment romance.
The heroine is not a virgin, while the hero is. She is ten years older than him.
Theme: Strive for self-improvement and live life with optimism!
