Midsummer Hail [School Life]

Mute, withdrawn male lead x firecracker, chatterbox female lead

A sweet school romance, with two utterly adorable leads

Jin Sishui had a name as gentle as water, but she was a short-tempered firecracker who could be set off at the slightest thing.

Every day, she was the loudest and noisiest person in class. Even her mother wondered how one person could talk so much.

One day, she arrived late to class and discovered that her deskmate had changed. A boy with snow-white skin sat there quietly.

Jin Sishui talked his ear off for the whole lesson, but he didn't even respond. She wasn't discouraged. The more he ignored her, the more she chattered, convinced she simply hadn't said anything that struck a chord with him yet.

During class, she chirped away for half the lesson, then gulped down a big cup of water. Picking up his workbook, she asked, "Li Guanqi, what a strange name. Do you really like playing chess?"

Li Guanqi snatched the book back and lowered his eyes without saying a word.

Only later did Jin Sishui learn that he had been named Guanqi because he couldn't speak.

A true gentleman watches a game of chess without speaking.

Li Guanqi had been clever since childhood, always the best at whatever he did. But people's praise always ended with the word "pity."

He grew quieter day by day. There were so many people in the world. Why did he have to be the one who was mute?

Much later, Li Guanqi's parents knocked on Jin Sishui's door, carrying gifts.

"We're so grateful to your Sishui. Guanqi's autism has gotten much better."

The origin of the name Guanqi came from the internet, as did the final plot point.
