A Thousand Miles Apart

Qiao Qiao has an exceptionally outstanding older sister, Qiao Gui'an. Tall, fair-skinned, clever, and confident, she embodies every good quality imaginable.

Qiao Qiao, by contrast, is quiet and slow-witted, as though nobody likes her.

Even her parents often overlook her. They always prioritize Qiao Gui'an, whether it's a birthday or a family gathering. Qiao Qiao has long since gotten used to it. Even when the whole family went out without her, she accepted it in silence.

She also has a neighbor who's like an older brother, Zhao Rangchou. He and Qiao Gui'an are a match made in heaven. Just look, even their names go so well together. Everyone thinks they'll get married, and Qiao Qiao thinks so too.

As soon as the college entrance exams were over, Qiao Qiao defied everyone's objections and applied to Beihar City, the northernmost place in the country.

With her bags on her back, Qiao Qiao left without a backward glance. I'm finally going to say goodbye to you all. I'm going to get far away from every one of you and live my own life.

From then on, with mountains and rivers between them, she would never hear the gossip or endure the arrogant comparisons again. She was going to embrace a new life.

But on her first day at school, she saw her exceptionally outstanding neighbor-brother there. What was he doing at her school?

[I traveled a thousand miles to get away from you, and you traveled a thousand miles to follow me]
