Reborn!: The Overachiever in Varia

I'm going to polish the plot a bit more before updating, orz. This is my first story after returning to the fandom, and I've gotten the timeline a bit mixed up. I'm revising the outline now. I'll update my other story, The Only Thing I Can Do Is Talk, first.

This follows the movements of the Varia through the ten years of Byakuran's rise.

In this story, X has serious psychological trauma and is struggling to heal on his own, so he comes across as pretty awful. In my other story, Passero gets involved and helps him work through his emotions, so X's personality is quite different in the two stories. This one is a little darker, too.

Blurb:

Li Qingyan accidentally transmigrates into the body of an Italian-Japanese teenage girl. Using the knowledge she retained from exams in her previous life, she outcompetes the other Italian test-takers and lands a position in Vongola's general administration department.

The clueless college student: "Yes! Clams! Sounds like a desk job for sailors! I'm so grateful that all that grinding at language study and civil service exams in my last life paid off. A true overachiever can get a job anywhere!"

The amiable, kindly big boss everyone calls the Ninth asks her, "My dear, would you be willing to work for the Varia? It's the same position, but the environment is greener and the department structure is much flatter."

What a fantastic opportunity! Besides, how could she refuse her boss's orders? "I'll go wherever the organization sends me!"

She stays happy until she's taken to a remote forest in the Italian mountains, where she sees her colleagues dressed in black and carrying knives and guns. Li Qingyan finally realizes: What exam did her previous self actually apply for?!

This story features an all-in pairing and a lot of major action, including characters the protagonist will be involved with. If that might bother you, please don't let it catch you off guard. (Bows)

Theme: Work hard for world peace.
