By her parents' command and the matchmaker's arrangement, Shen Hanxiu married Yu Zhenyi.
Everyone said Yu Zhenyi was a righteous man with an impressive military record, a fine husband. But in the three months since Shen Hanxiu married into his family, she hadn't seen him even once.
Feeling as though she'd been left a widow with a living husband, she simply stopped acting like the Yu family's wife, shut away alone in her chambers.
Shen Hanxiu met a man whose looks and build were exactly to her taste, and met with him many times under an assumed name.
Just when she thought she was about to fall for him, an accident brought them together intimately.
It was only when the Yu family servants pushed open the door that Shen Hanxiu learned the man beside her, whom she'd nearly fallen for, was none other than her newlywed husband, whom she hadn't seen in three months.
-- Just like her, he had concealed his name and identity when they were together.
After that day, Yu Zhenyi transformed into a good husband who came home early every day after leaving the government office.
Shen Hanxiu smiled as she watched him perform the part of a devoted husband.
She gave Yu Zhenyi three months of his own medicine, then placed a divorce agreement before him.
She wanted to be Shen Hanxiu again, not Madam Yu, a woman bearing her husband's surname.
