Note: This is the author's bizarre Devil May Cry and Honkai: Star Rail crossover recipe, specifically: Devil May Cry + Honkai Impact 3rd + Honkai: Star Rail.
-------------------Blurb begins here-------------------
How did I, a half-demon, suddenly become an Aeon?!
Kevin, the half-demon who awoke aboard the Astral Express, looked at his current identity and was utterly baffled by this hellish joke.
Kevin: Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Kevin. Yes, you read that right, my name is Kevin. I'm the person you're thinking of: an alternate counterpart of Kevin Kaslana.
Kevin: At the same time, I'm also a reincarnator. I'm the youngest son of the Sparda family, with twin older brothers. The eldest is Vergil, and the second eldest is Dante.
Kevin: Because of an accident, I returned to my homeland.
Kevin: But... can someone tell me why I became an Aeon the moment I arrived?!
Kevin: I am the one who became an Aeon. By all reasonable logic, you should be the vessel of an Aeon.
Kevin: We're two souls in one body. Aren't you me? So there's nothing wrong with me saying I became an Aeon.
Kevin: ...
Kevin: Even if you're a soul formed from the completed Stigmata Will, the Stigmata was imprinted on my soul long ago. Based on the fundamental laws of the universe, you are me and I am you. We're just the outer and inner layers. It's no big deal.
Kevin: ...You convinced me. Ha, forget it. I'm not the original anyway, just a Stigmata Will.
Kevin: You said it yourself, you're just a Stigmata Will, the collective will of "Salvation." Then give yourself a new name, will you?
Kevin: ...Kaslana.
Kevin: Hm?
Kaslana: Kevin Kaslana was the first Kaslana, but Kaslana is not Kevin.
Kaslana: Kaslana is the collective will of the warriors who fought for "Salvation." I am the embodiment of the Stigmata Will, not Kevin Kaslana himself.
Kevin: Then, Kaslana, let us lay the foundation of our Path.
Kaslana: ...All right.
Kaslana: Some people fly only so they can fall...
Kevin: Only those determined to shoulder everything, and bear the weight of the choices they make.
As they made their vow, the two souls resonated and became one. Their Path now illuminated the universe, and the Aeons cast their gazes upon the newborn Aeon, witnessing the moment of his coronation.
Kaslana/Kevin: That is "Salvation"!
Content warnings:
1. Updates are irregular, and the story is slow to heat up. The pairing is the Aeon of "Salvation" Kaslana x Kevin. It's selfcest, though maybe not exactly... Probably selfcest? The side pairing is Akivili, the Aeon of "Trailblaze," x Nanook, the Aeon of "Destruction."
2. Since miHoYo updates slowly, there are lots of my own settings. The story will probably move back and forth between the worlds of Devil May Cry and Honkai: Star Rail.
3. This series also involves a large-scale worldbuilding project I've been working on for a long time, so there are original settings. Original settings, original settings, original settings.
As I always say, if you think the setting is off, just treat it as a parallel world.
(That said, the original works should still be respected. So whenever the settings don't conflict, I'll do my best to incorporate the canon.)
5. The golden rule of this story: Any discrepancies are original settings; any similarities are purely coincidental.
6. The views expressed in this story do not represent the author's views.
7. There may be other warnings I haven't thought of. No worries, I'll add them if I think of any.
Theme: Why do birds fly?
