A Date with Saiki Kusuo

In an empty abyss, the closer you come to life, the more elusive it becomes. The harder you struggle, the more impossible it is to escape.

Until

Bai Shuang left that place and arrived in a future she knew nothing about.

When she met those violet eyes behind green lenses, she felt as though she had finally found a path to life.

Hope bloomed that evening. A pink-haired boy cut through the shackles that had bound her to the abyss. They would grow back again, but at least for now, she had found peace.

She didn't know where the uncertain future would lead, but she wanted to try to fight her way forward.

"I like you, "

Before she found the courage, she couldn't say those words to the boy. But she had already said them in her heart a thousand times.

And without her knowing, he heard every one of them.

"Even I long for the romance of someone confessing to me..."

"There's nothing wrong with confessing, Bai. It's perfectly normal. But I suggest you find someone else to like. That way, you might actually have a chance. Because I won't fall for anyone."

In the ending that could never be, the all-powerful esper was finally defeated by a one-of-a-kind sight.

At last, he admitted to himself that he had fallen for Bai Shuang.

When that movie came out, the first work she had ever written was being adapted for the big screen. She had devoted all the passion of her life to writing, the one thing she loved above all else, and at last she had this opportunity. The first person she wanted to share it with was the one who had saved her from the abyss. But she hadn't even said a word, and somehow he already knew...

"Saturday morning? Got it. I'll come find you."

"Does that count as a date?"

"Good grief. If that's how you want to think of it, then sure."

She was the one-of-a-kind sight in his eyes. She loved and trusted him with all her heart, liked him so carefully that she didn't want to trouble him, and, best of all, fed him exquisite desserts. Even an esper couldn't resist that, could he?
