She Is an NPC in a Detective Game

One day, Chang Fengcan transmigrated into a cutting-edge full-immersion detective game that was still in closed beta.

Yes, she didn't enter as a player. Her real body had transmigrated into the game.

The game world was dangerous, with gods and immortals, demons and monsters. As an ordinary person, Chang Fengcan trembled in fear and desperately wanted to return to the world outside the game. So she promptly latched onto a player, hoping that one day, when the player logged off, they might take her back too.

As she pretended to be an NPC and got along with the players in a friendly way (chaotic mayhem), joined hands with them (and got harassed a hundred different ways), and investigated cases together, Chang Fengcan increasingly felt something was wrong. Why did the mysterious final boss of the main quest the Four Great Calamities were searching for look so much like her?!

No, that was her, wasn't it...

At last, she remembered the memories that had been sealed away, and Chang Fengcan wore an expression that said it all.

So this wasn't a game world, but the real world? And she herself was the incarnation of this world's Heavenly Dao?

Thinking back to how an outside High God had seized her authority all those years ago, forcing her to flee to another world just to survive, seal her memories, and hide her tracks, then looking at how that foreign High God had now summoned players to help and begun openly seizing territory, Chang Fengcan felt she was truly done for.

An army of chaotic evil calamities numbering in the tens of thousands and still growing: what could she possibly use to fight them?

"Goddess, why do you look so gloomy? Is there anything I can do to help?"

The player, who was always keen to raise her affection score, had come again to try to trigger a hidden quest.

Chang Fengcan stared at him for a few moments, then suddenly had an idea.

Your player is fine. The next second, they're mine.

"Yes, there is something that's been troubling me. Actually..."

Using the last of her Heavenly Dao power, Chang Fengcan created a virus and infiltrated the foreign High God's player System.

All the players suddenly saw a line of red text appear on their screens:

"World Breakthrough Quest triggered. A new faction will soon open. Complete the quest now and join the new faction to earn massive reputation and experience!"

The player before her jumped up, waving his arms excitedly. "Holy crap! I triggered it! Is the faction-war mode coming?"

Chang Fengcan went from an NPC passerby to the leader of a new faction, smiling as she encouraged the players to take faction quests on her side.

Thanks to my opponent for spending so many resources and so much effort raising the players. I'll gladly take them off your hands!

Players: High God, being a double agent is so much fun. Take this righteous backstab!
