The World-Destroying Demon Lord Is Actually Hopelessly in Love

A female lead who's totally clueless about romance but flirts without realizing it, paired with an obsessive male lead who's a hopeless romantic and convinces himself she's in love with him.

When Jiang Rao grew her spirit wings, she had a dream.

In the dream, corpses were piled like mountains and not a blade of grass grew. Ominous black mist spread across both realms. She also saw a man in black seated high atop a throne of bones, with a cultivator beneath him, battered and bloodied from torture. She heard him curse:

“He Qianchen, you beast, worse than an animal!”

As soon as the words fell, He Qianchen slowly crushed every bone in the cultivator's body, killing him.

Before Jiang Rao could get a good look at the man's face, the scene shifted. The man named He Qianchen had already destroyed the world with his sword.

Both realms were ruined, all life was gone, and the Spirit Clan was wiped out as well.

The Spirit Clan never dreamed, and whatever they dreamed was prophecy.

So Jiang Rao could only obey her master's orders and descend the mountain to kill He Qianchen before the black mist appeared.

She asked around all the way, but couldn't find him. Instead, she came across a poor little thing covered in wounds, with a black cloud of bad luck over his head.

He Qianchen, betrayed by his fellow disciples, tumbled down the mountainside while fleeing. Lying in the rain, covered in blood and waiting to die, he saw an oil-paper umbrella appear over his head.

When he woke again, the woman who had saved him leaned close without the least bit of reservation. Holding a bowl of foul-smelling medicine, she asked in confusion:

“Every play says that you repay a life-saving favor by giving yourself to your rescuer. So from now on, you're mine.”

He Qianchen froze for a moment, then the tips of his ears turned bright red.

“A life-saving favor should be repaid with all my heart. If that's what you want, my lady, then... I'm willing.”

Then he heard the woman say happily, “Once you're better, come with me to find He Qianchen.”

He Qianchen was both confused and hopeful. “What do you want with him?”

The woman looked serious. “To uphold justice and kill him, of course. Oh, I haven't asked your name yet.”

He Qianchen answered without changing expression, “Cheng Qianhe.”

Later...

Only then did Jiang Rao realize that He Qianchen, read backward, was Cheng Qianhe (He).

A little scene

He Qianchen: “A-Rao really, really, really, really loves me. If she didn't, why would she travel all the way down the mountain just to kill me, instead of killing someone else?”
