The Prey's Turn

Xia Jue Ming bet his friends that he could win over the department's campus beauty, Song Xun, within three months.

He brought Song Xun flowers and milk tea, and marked her attendance in class, taking care of her in every way.

Whenever Song Xun needed something, he ran errands for her. When she competed, he cheered her on. When she craved something delicious, he stayed up late searching for recommendations.

As Song Xun fell more and more for him, he became increasingly anxious.

Just as he was about to confess, afraid the bet would be exposed, he overheard Song Xun talking to a friend behind a wall.

Friend: "What made you think of having us egg Xia Jue Ming on to pursue you?"

He heard the woman's clear voice, full of amusement. "Isn't it fun?"

The milk tea fell from Xia Jue Ming's hand. His eyes reddened. "You're a liar!"

Song Xun turned around in surprise, the smile frozen on her lips.

2.

Song Xun fell in love at first sight with a boy whose smile revealed his little canine teeth, but they had no connection at all.

One day, they ran into each other at a bar. The people at the next table were playing the King game. She knew her chance had come.

Song Xun called her friend over. "When we're playing, egg Xia Jue Ming on to pursue me."

Friend: ???

Song Xun: I'll do your homework for a whole semester if this works.

Friend: OK!

Song Xun knew Xia Jue Ming. He was a bit obedient and easy to provoke, so she was sure he'd fall for it.

--- I like you, but you have to be the one to pursue me.

The heroine isn't exactly a paragon of kindness.
