[Mythology] [Investiture of the Gods] [Journey to the West] [Ensemble Cast] [Multisport Competitions] [Growing Up as Divine Children]
A slow-burn story, with plenty of everyday moments.
One day, people at work suddenly noticed a sky screen in the heavens. It was broadcasting live sports competitions between a group of little kids.
As everyone wondered how the sky screen had appeared, they suddenly realized the kids seemed strangely familiar...
A little boy with his hair tied into two upward-pointing tufts, decked out in gold and silver and running around barefoot all day with a pair of gold rings around his ankles, was training in table tennis. His opponent was a cool-faced little boy wearing a tie-dyed headband and a white rural dog embroidered on his hoodie.
The coach passing by on patrol: "You, the one who laughs and jokes all day! Why are you still smiling? Have you hit 200 balls yet?"
The little tyke with the upward tufts: "No worries. I'll take care of it."
As he spoke, he sprouted three heads and eight arms, fired eight balls at once, and finished his training in no time.
The chubby kid: "..."
A little boy who carried a bow and arrows everywhere was listening to the archery coach explain how to draw a bow. The coach took aim and fired, hitting the bull's-eye on a target five meters away.
The boy was silent for a second, then walked over to a moving target a hundred meters away. He took the bow from his back, nocked an arrow, and the sun immediately began to set, as if afraid it wouldn't go down in time.
The arrow flew, and the bull's-eye vanished. The three-legged Golden Crow, already past the horizon, silently pulled an arrow from its backside. A red bull's-eye was skewered on it.
The Golden Crow: "Thank goodness Yi has lost his magic. Otherwise, I'd be joining my nine brothers!"
The equestrian coach was arguing with the track coach over a handsome child playing with a golden staff.
The equestrian coach: "This kid has a gift for riding! Trust me, come train with me and you'll win gold for sure!"
The track coach: "No, no, come try track and field! You'll bring glory to Asia!"
Meanwhile, the swimming coach watching nearby looked troubled. "Can you two stop arguing for a second? I just applied to enter a competitor, and they said the contestant is a dragon, so he can't compete. If dragons aren't allowed, why do you think monkeys are?"
Nezha, who happened to pass by and get hit by an invisible insult: "? Good thing nobody called me a plant and banned me from competing. (smiles)"
Yang Jian, passing by too: "... (Should I report this? Then I could take first place.)"
Reader's Guide:
1. I'm bad at writing blurbs. There's a little research, but not much, so please don't take it too seriously.
2. OOC warning: a chaotic mix of headcanons.
3. The cover changes often. Keep an eye out for little surprises.
Theme: Competition comes first, friendship comes second.

Wukong: If you try, you will die.
Is this the ancestor of archery? I hope solar energy sticks to it.

Yi is a term that only exists in our modern times. He used to be called Yi, but later he was mixed up with Hou Yi, the monarch of the Xia Dynasty. Calling him Dayi from the mouth of a mythological figure is a bit strange.
