Gu Shi was a KPI ace who had topped the Time Management Bureau's rankings for years. At last, he had saved up enough points to retire.
To fit into normal society, he found a job as a company employee and even picked up a considerate, capable boyfriend. In his spare time, he helped the Bureau's juniors solve the occasional problem, becoming the ordinary person he had always dreamed of being.
Gu Shi was very happy with his life.

But his peaceful days didn't last long before the world suddenly began to change.
Birds started crashing into the glass windows of high-rises in droves, while stray cats and dogs inexplicably howled in the streets.
Thick, foul-smelling sludge surged out of the sewers.
Someone saw a mannequin sprinting inside a mirror.
When a junior asked him to come back as a special consultant, Gu Shi waved him off. "I'm just an ordinary person. My boyfriend's waiting at home for me to eat."
The junior said, "The Bureau says they'll pay you more."
Gu Shi: Damn it, they're offering way too much :)

Then one morning, Gu Shi dragged himself out of bed, aching all over, and received an encrypted video from his junior.
In the video, foul creatures radiating evil energy and emitting maddening shrieks exploded one after another into clouds of blood beneath the unhurried footsteps of a man.
Gu Shi zoomed in.
It was his boyfriend, carrying a basket of groceries home.
A few vegetable leaves were smeared with some unknown black slime.
Gu Shi: "..."
He sprang up, only to turn and discover that his boyfriend had somehow entered the room.
His boyfriend, so handsome he hardly looked human, pulled him into his arms and affectionately nuzzled his cheek. In a low voice, he asked, "Darling, what would you like for lunch?"
A nonhuman seme who tries every day to learn how to act human, but often fails x A human uke who only wants to be ordinary but is born with a knack for getting dragged into trouble (?)
