Bottom's perspective:
After Chi You dies, the System Bureau summons him to fix plot holes in various worlds.
As a reward for completing his missions, the Main System promises to grant his wish to be revived on the spot.
Chi You immediately raises his hand. "I can do it! Send me in!!"
Who knew that he'd be sent into an old-fashioned, melodramatic angst novel full of all his pet peeves?
In this book, the spirited young protagonist, the bottom, loves the scumbag top so desperately that he becomes utterly submissive. He not only loses the use of one hand, but willingly has his kidney removed and his blood drained, degenerating into a pathetic doormat.
The scumbag CEO is blind and heartless. He has no regard for the law and spends the early part of the story devoted to his frail, beloved white moonlight.
Chi You: ?
What an idiot!
But even worse, the plot has already advanced to the point where the protagonist has fallen so deeply into depraved madness that he's willingly become a substitute, and has had his kidney removed, his blood drained, and been imprisoned and abused, all in one go.
The novel's delicate white-flower white moonlight is about to return after faking his death. He'll soon persuade the original scumbag top to cut out the protagonist's heart too, leaving him close to dying on the operating table and escalating the physical and emotional torment all over again.
Chi You: ...
Damn it, scumbag top and pathetic bottom, you can both go die!
He's not fixing the plot holes anymore!

Top's perspective:
For eight years, Xie Guanlan has been kept as a plaything, treated like a lowly object to be imprisoned and toyed with, stripped of every shred of dignity.
During those eight years, he went from resisting and pleading for help to kneeling and begging for death. His pride and self-respect were ground to dust, yet all he ever got in return was treatment that was even more brutal and cruel.
In his numb despair, he believed more than once that he would end up dying alone, curled into himself in a cramped patch of darkness.
So even with the only person who came close to him, he was gloomy and neurotic, like a madman.
They argued over countless trivial things, quarrelling until they wanted to curse each other to die right to their faces.
But when that person died saving him, and was gone forever...
Xie Guanlan finally realized in a daze that even the most barren plain could sprout green shoots.
The silent, battered heart in his chest had long since blossomed with a flower named Chi You.

[Important Content Warnings]:
1. The original novel's bottom becomes the top. Proceed with caution if this isn't for you!!!
2. The kidney removal is real, and so is being used as a walking blood bank. If this bothers you, or you don't want to read about eight years spent entangled with a scumbag top, proceed with caution. But from the start, he is already dead inside and ready to die. Later on, he does not remain entangled with the scumbag top! The only thing left between them is sending the man to the crematorium and turning him to ashes!
3. Readers with extreme top- or bottom-focused preferences, proceed with caution. Neither lead is perfect. Just like the blurb says, they may even argue!! If something doesn't suit you, please stop reading in time, sob.
4. The chosen genre is old-fashioned melodrama, so there may be even more melodramatic twists later. If that bothers you, stop reading in time! The melodrama only applies to the plot. I can promise that neither lead is melodramatic in the way the blurb might suggest (firmly!).
5. I think I've listed all the warnings I can in the blurb, sob. I really want to write a redemption story that goes from "hating each other on sight" to "making peace" qaq
