"The Darkest Hour" is a hugely popular full-dive mystery game, known for its realistic characters and highly unpredictable plots. Many players are scared out of their wits by the hidden bosses, yet still can't resist entering the game to die again and again.

Qin Yuan'an was dragged in to help fill out the player count. With no sense of involvement and no inclination to stir up trouble, she was the perfect laid-back player.

It's just that being laid-back isn't easy, either. Every time, her character has a lover, and the identities of these lovers all seem a little strange...

World One:

Qin Yuan'an, who has always kept to herself, gets a boyfriend. But no one else has ever seen him, and he never seeks her out. No one even knows his name.

So her classmates suspect that Qin Yuan'an made up her boyfriend.

Faced with everyone's curious, probing looks, Qin Yuan'an never offers a single answer, which only makes the rumors seem more believable.

Recently, a string of accidents has taken place at the school. Someone heard strange noises in the hallway late at night, saw filthy stains in the bathroom, and spotted a bizarre figure in the mirror...

The players' mission is to find the culprit behind it all. After staking out the school for several days, they finally find the mastermind on the rooftop.

A chill wind howls as the monster's shape keeps shifting. One moment it looks like a giant monster, the next like a savage beast. Its strange movements make it even more eerie and unpredictable.

In its hands, long, slender needles weave back and forth. The needles flash silver, their tips carrying the unsettling look of something that has just pierced a corpse.

Noticing the players, the monster looks up. Beneath its clean, delicate little face is a twisted body.

The players shudder and scatter in panic, certain they'll be eaten the very next second.

Qin Yuan'an, who always stays laid-back and never draws attention to herself, walks over with a blank expression. As if she doesn't see the monster's grotesque body, she pats it on the head and says sternly, "Don't just play with any old thing."

Seeing Qin Yuan'an's suicidal behavior, the other players are sure she won't live to see another sunrise.

Then they see that the monster doesn't even get angry after being hit. It obediently stretches out a small piece of itself, making it longer and thinner as it struggles to shape it into a finger, then touches Qin Yuan'an's hand.

It gives Qin Yuan'an a clumsily knitted sweater, seemingly trying to win her over.

Qin Yuan'an takes the BOSS's "finger" and says, "Sorry, this is my boyfriend. He hasn't quite mastered shapeshifting yet. Come on, say hi to your big brother."

The monster stretches out a piece of its body and obediently waves its "hand."

Her brother is stunned and horrified. "I do not approve of this marriage!"

World Two:

Forced to do a mission, Qin Yuan'an lowers her head to search for clues, but an annoying fellow keeps pestering her.

The evil spirit, having devoured countless people, leans lazily against Qin Yuan'an's back and coaxes, "Forget these humans. Come play with me."

Qin Yuan'an ignores it.

After a while, something writhes beneath the evil spirit's wide sleeves, and black mist oozes out, slowly winding around Qin Yuan'an's arm.

Annoyed by the interruption, Qin Yuan'an smacks the black mist away without looking back.

Its sleeve flops to the ground, but the evil spirit doesn't care. The black mist slowly crawls back into its body. Its eyes gleam with malice, and it bares its pearly white teeth.

"These humans are progressing too slowly and holding you back. It's fine. I'll take care of them."

After being forced to work overtime for three days straight, Qin Yuan'an furrows her brows and says impatiently, "Come here."

The evil spirit obediently walks over. "What is it?"

She pulls the evil spirit toward her and plants a hard kiss on its face. Then she says solemnly, "I'm kissing you."

"Also, don't hurt anyone."

Don't give me more work to do.

The black mist coils into a limp little ball. The murderous intent in its eyes fades, and the evil spirit says softly, "All right. If you don't like it, I won't do it."

"Mm."

"And that thing you just did, do it again."

The other players: We really shouldn't be here.

World Three:

A laid-back but sharp-intuited heroine who likes to be direct x clingy, seemingly harmless but genuinely vicious nonhuman BOSS boyfriends

Kaveh says matter-of-factly, "That guy could never find someone he likes. The person he likes most is himself, right? He's destined to be alone for the rest of his life."

Alhaitham glances at him blandly. "Oh, really? I'm sorry to disappoint you, but your judgment is clearly wrong."

Kaveh is so furious he's about to jump up and argue with Alhaitham, while Cyno gives him a sharp look. "Then what have you been doing this whole time?"

"Nothing. Just chatting with my wife and asking what souvenirs she wants me to bring back," Alhaitham replies calmly.

"What?!"

Among a group of single friends, the only one with a wife is practically bursting with pride.

A naive, warm-hearted golden retriever x a kind, down-on-his-luck idealist (Kaveh)

A cool, aloof older sister x a kindhearted, scatterbrained Traveler (Aether)
