My Deskmate Really Knows His Stuff

As a classic underachiever, Jiang Huai looked down on every good student without exception.

Then one day, he woke up to find himself seated beside an academic god.

Si Bai had transferred from a prestigious high school. With silver-rimmed glasses and a cool, handsome air, he was completely out of place among the slackers at their ordinary high school.

The homeroom teacher seated them together, but the transfer student moved his desk to the side.

Si Bai: "I can't stand stuffy air."

Jiang Huai: "..." Just like that, they were enemies.

After class, Jiang Huai was spinning a basketball around the classroom when it accidentally rolled onto Si Bai's desk and knocked over his water bottle.

Si Bai kicked the ball out into the hallway, where a passing teacher confiscated it.

Their teacher told them to look over a test together. Jiang Huai would rather toss the test to Si Bai and move over to study with the student in front than sit beside him.

The two nearly got into fights at school several times. Everyone knew they couldn't stand each other.

Until one day, they noticed that Jiang Huai, who had always hated studying, was steadily improving his grades...

After exams, students were seated according to their scores. Si Bai claimed the top spot again.

Homeroom teacher: "Si Bai, change seats after class and move to the front."

Si Bai: "I'm not going. The air's fresher in the back."

Jiang Huai: "..." Why did that sound so familiar?

Si Bai moved his desk next to Jiang Huai's. "This spot is perfect."

Jiang Huai: "You sure didn't say that before!"

Even so, Jiang Huai's ears turned red when Si Bai wasn't looking.
