Clear-headed, restrained female lead × devoted, lovesick male lead
Product manager who left a major tech company × Beijing's princeling actor
Everyone knows that actor He Mu has had a girlfriend for many years. When reporters ask him about her on camera, he always smiles and brushes the question aside without answering directly.
That summer, Nancheng was hit by the strongest typhoon in a decade. Torrential rain poured down, and branches bent under the force of the wind. All high-speed trains and flights in the city were suspended.
Just before the signal cut out, He Mu learned that Xia Yu had been hospitalized with a serious illness. Ignoring everyone's attempts to stop him, he rushed out of a hotel packed with fans and reporters. He drove alone for hours through wind and rain, traveling a thousand miles to Yuncheng.
Under the astonished gaze of the nurses, patients, and family members in the ward, He Mu walked in, covered in dust and weariness. Xia Yu, her face rosy, was frowning as she held a few pills in her palm.
After a few seconds of stunned silence, Xia Yu looked up at him, dazed. Her voice held a hint of grievance she couldn't quite hide. "He Mu, this medicine is so bitter."
He Mu walked to her bedside. He blinked, his eyes bloodshot after staying up all night. Seeing her there, he finally relaxed, then said in a hoarse, relieved voice, "Now everyone knows that you, in Yuncheng, are He Mu's girlfriend of many years."
When Xia Yu broke up with He Mu two years ago, she said all sorts of hurtful things. She thought she'd never get the chance to see him again in this lifetime.
But things didn't go as planned. She ran into He Mu "by chance" once, twice, three times... So often that even she couldn't tell whether it was coincidence or someone's deliberate arrangement.
Bonus scene:
One morning, Xia Yu woke from a dream with a pair of arms wrapped tightly around her waist. A low, hoarse voice sounded beside her: "How am I doing? Will you make me official?"
Reading guide:
1. Both leads are strong and excel in their respective fields.
2. Each other's first love, happy ending.
3. The author is terrible at writing blurbs. The story is better than the blurb.

Will There Be a Meteor Shower Tonight?
Gifted competition ace × determined small-town test-taker
Sharp-tongued, double-standard, big-shot B-king × sweet girl who flirts without realizing it and is adorably oblivious
The year Lin Jianxing transferred to Baijiang High School, she also moved into Qin Yu's house.
At school, everyone said Qin Yu was an untouchable flower on a high peak. He seemed easy to get along with and treated everyone with courtesy, but in reality he was aloof and hard to get close to.
That didn't sound much like the childhood friend Lin Jianxing remembered.
He was kind, warmhearted, protective, and caring. There was no one better suited to being a good friend.
When she voiced her doubts, the others only smiled without saying a word.
After all, as everyone saw it, Lin Jianxing had put all her talent points into studying. She was as sweet and soft-spoken as the way she talked, and was usually half a beat slower than everyone else to react.
Aside from their names passing one another on the top-100 rankings, one above the other, they had nothing to do with each other.
Lin Jianxing knew Qin Yu better than they did?
Give me a break. How could that be!
Until the school held an overnight camping trip. Rumor had it there would be a once-in-thirty-years Orion meteor shower that night.
Lin Jianxing sat on the mountaintop, rubbing her chilly cheeks as she murmured, "I wish meteor showers left fragments behind."
Qin Yu took off his jacket and draped it over her shoulders, then casually asked,
"What would you do with the fragments?"
"That would mean my wish came true!"
"How many wishes do you have?"
"Three."
When the dean's flashlight swept over them, Lin Jianxing's uniform hem was already holding three "fragments" of the meteor shower.
Paper stars folded from candy wrappers.
In the line of students punished for suspected puppy love, Lin Jianxing was hugging Qin Yu's jacket while Qin Yu held her pink water bottle.
The onlookers finally understood: So we're the joke!
-
Much later, the night before Lin Jianxing moved out of the Qin home, she found an open notebook tucked in the corner of the storage room.
The pages were covered in Qin Yu's handwriting. His strokes seemed to hold the restraint unique to a young man:
That was when I finally understood: when the dust of a 13.8-billion-year-old universe burns for us, even astrophysics must yield to a racing heart.
The date at the bottom was the night they'd watched the meteor shower on the mountain.
If she turned back a few more pages, she would find proof that Qin Yu had fallen for her years before she fell for him.
Theme: Those who never forget will eventually hear an answer.

Author, I beg you, please add two more chapters?
The author's writing style is very good, why no one reads it 💪
"Hui" is a big thorn in the side of the author~
"Xia Yuyu" gave the author a big bug~ This should be He Lin, right?
