Large numbers of male insects fell on the front lines, and even the scarce sub-females suffered heavy losses.

Silan Yate Military Academy, the oldest and most powerful military academy in the empire, immediately selected a group of its top students to head to the front.

But when the list of outstanding students was announced, everyone was stunned. Silan?

What kind of weirdo had slipped in? Had this lovesick fool seen that his crush was on the list and cheated on the exam just to follow him to the front?

Whatever. A useless waste like that would only get himself killed. Good riddance.

But not long afterward...

The Mother Insect's Heart, enshrined in the main city's holy temple and dead for millions of years, showed signs of a false awakening.

After their shock, everyone fell to their knees in worship.

Even a three-year-old baby insect knew that only a royal female insect, a being found solely in legend, could resonate with the Mother Insect's Heart by using a vast Empathic Field.

Thousands of miles away, Silan had just unleashed his Empathic Field. He kicked aside the male insect blocking his way, hoisted his long saber, and leaped off the airship.

His four wings spread behind him, slicing through the sky.
