The Goofy Heroine Only Wants to Ascend

How could there be a body cultivator who had practiced for three thousand years and still couldn't break through the Qi Refining stage? I'm sorry, Yan Qingyue is exactly that person.

But breaking through the Qi Refining stage isn't the point. Ascension is.

However, according to the rules of the cultivation world, only cultivators who survive a tribulation can ascend. Mortals can't ascend.

When people are pushed to the brink, they'll do anything.

To ascend, Yan Qingyue decided to piggyback on someone else's tribulation. But somehow, she scared their tribulation away?

Yan Qingyue's silence was deafening. Was the Heavenly Dao picking on her?

Heavenly Dao: I'm not, I didn't, so stop trying to pin this on me!

Though she kept losing battle after battle, ascension had become Yan Qingyue's obsession. How could she give up so easily?

So she tried another route: playing the erhu. She would bypass the usual path of comprehending spiritual energy and use the principles contained in music to break through and ascend.

But her playing brought down heavenly lightning, and she became an expert at providing a full funeral service. Who could understand her plight?

Since the road to ascension never went smoothly, she decided to take a break. Then, quite by accident, she picked up a fox. Just as she was getting hooked on petting it, the fox took human form and demanded that she take responsibility?!

It turned out the Heavenly Fox clan had a secret tradition: if you pet a fox, you have to become its Dao companion?!

Yan Qingyue, a confirmed singleton, immediately agreed, then turned around and started studying cultivation methods with the fox, hoping to redouble her efforts.

Fox: Somehow, this Dao companion isn't quite what I imagined...

Yan Qingyue declared solemnly, "To explore the Great Dao together and ascend together, that's what Dao companions do. I need you to help me ascend!"

The fox, reduced to a tool for her ascension: "..."
