The cold wind was biting, and Miao Tu was pushing the cart slowly uphill when she suddenly felt a light behind her.
She turned around and saw Xu Yanbai in a jacket standing behind him, his hand that had not been retracted silently helping her push the cart.
When their eyes met, the boy took off his gloves and stuffed them into Miao Tu's frozen palms. His clear and dark eyes were full of gentle smiles.
Miao Tu couldn't hear what he said, she just stared blankly into the other person's eyes and saw his thin lips opening and closing.
From then on, she firmly believed that this must be the most beautiful sound in the world.

Xu Yanbai transferred to the small town because he wanted to see the flower of Tupelo blooming with his own eyes.
Summer is approaching, and Miao Tu takes the boys up the ridge, where they can see the blooms of the tea plant all over the mountains and plains.
Under the bright starry sky, Xu Yanbai looked back in the endless sea of flowers, the corners of his white shirt dancing in the wind.
He asked softly: "Miao Tu, do you have any unfulfilled wishes?"
Miao Tu blushed at the sight of him, lowered her eyes, and pointed to her ears.
She said: "I want to heal my ears so that I can hear you calling my name."
Xu Yanbai agreed with a smile.
"Definitely."

At the end of the story, it is unclear whether the old friend kept his promise.
In a world where Xu Yanbai no longer existed, Miao Tu guarded the water-soaked recording pen and listened repeatedly to the only audio message calling her name.
The flowers bloom in the pinellia ternata, and her youth will always stay in the sea of flowers at the age of eighteen, and the summer will not end.
And that "I like you" that no one knows can only be heard by heaven and earth. Under the starry sky on that midsummer night, the young man's confession was scattered in the wind.
