Also known as "It's Hard Being a Villain" and "This Isn't the Road to a Death Flag [Book Transmigration]"
He Xu transmigrated into a novel and became the male lead's right-hand man, an all-around gentle supporting character.
Unfortunately, he fell for the second female lead. To help the woman he loved pursue her true love, he used every little trick to split up the main couple. In the end, he wore away their years of friendship and was crushed by the main couple working together.
He Xu went to work with the script in hand, diligently playing the part of a gentle, considerate, all-purpose assistant on the surface, while privately acting as a twisted fan of the second female lead and secretly targeting the female lead, unable to stand seeing her happy.
He maintained his double life and kept up his hypocritical facade until his part in the story ended, when the female lead's younger brother dumped him on an abandoned garbage planet, where nobody would care if he died.
Under the female lead's knowing gaze: "I understand everything!"
With the male lead's complete trust.
And with the female lead's younger brother showing him kindness from time to time.
Amid his worries about the plot, he finally made it to the end.
A black hood was pulled over his head. He was overjoyed, thinking he could wrap up his role, find a little planet to live out his days in obscurity, and stay away from the characters in the story.
But when he opened his eyes, he was in a bright, spacious room. He Xu lay on his back, staring at the ceiling, when a face suddenly loomed over him.
The female lead's younger brother glared down at him, fierce as a wolf.
The setting was wrong, but the characters and their emotions were spot-on.
He Xu waited for the line that would close out his story: "How could anyone be as evil as you? You deserve to spend the rest of your life on a garbage planet." He only needed to put up a little resistance, then survive the transport ship's explosion by faking his death. He could make a perfect escape.
He Xu did his best to hide his excitement, putting on a cold expression and provoking him on purpose.
A fluffy head buried itself against his side, and the rest of the person leaned over him.
The sudden weight and his restrained limbs left He Xu dazed, an unsettling premonition rising in his mind.
The next second, the person who was supposed to give him his death flag suddenly looked up. His eyes were red from crying and full of grievance. "Why can't you look at me, even just once?"
His opponent offered him a rose, making his desire clear.
He Xu: "?"
Are you okay? Where's my big, beautiful death flag?
After being gone for a long time, Ruan Jin returned to the military with He Xu.
Ruan Mian immediately cut her honeymoon short and set off for the military to make sure He Xu was safe.
Yin Feiyang: "You and your brother are meeting again. Is there really any need to rush?"
Ruan Mian nodded quickly. "I'm not worried about my brother so much as I am about Deputy General He."
Who didn't know her brother had misunderstood Deputy General He countless times? He'd abducted him without a word. Who knew what he might do!
She stormed into the office, and sure enough, she saw Deputy General He cornered by her younger brother, his eyes red at the corners, looking restrained and on the verge of tears.
Ruan Jin, on the other hand, had a smile in his eyes and didn't even turn around.
Before she could speak up for him, Deputy General He politely escorted them both out of the office.
Later, though, she heard that a certain newly enlisted soldier had been punished by his commanding officer with an entire afternoon of running laps.
He collapsed from exhaustion that night and only returned to his post after lying around for a day, yet he had worn a smile the whole time he ran.
What a mystery.
A devoted, all-capable villainous background character with a toxic persona, in the receiving role.
A sister-obsessed younger brother who seeks revenge for his sister, in the pursuing role.
An imaginary setting with both contemporary and interstellar elements. All plot events are fictional.
Note: The male lead's name is very similar to his sister's.

New advance notice, jumping the queue
"Me, the Demon King, Beloved by the Party Hunting Me"
The very first second after his thousand-year seal was lifted, the Demon King Rhein was blasted until he was covered in dust.
He looked up. People were flying through the sky on boards, while others held tubes that glowed red before shooting out fireballs.
...Had magic evolved this much?
Then things got worse.
He braced himself on the ground to stand, but his palm landed on a sharp piece of rubble.
It hurt.
A bright red bead of blood welled up and trickled down.
The Demon King stared at the cut for three seconds.
Where was his armor of scales? Where was the armor that made him impervious to weapons and able to withstand forbidden spells?
He felt the top of his head. His horns were gone. He felt behind his waist. His tail was gone. He looked down at himself. His exposed wrists were as thin as an old wizard's staff, and his skin was so pale it dazzled the eyes. The slightest bump left him red, like a crystal ball that might shatter at any moment.
This body was new. Human. Fragile enough to break at a touch.
His true Demon King body was still sunk in another dimension, and he couldn't retrieve it.
"There's a child here!" A woman's voice came from above. She crouched down and inspected his little arms. "Let's take him back to the Hero's Party!"
The Hero's Party.
Hearing those four words, the Demon King's pupils shrank.
Wasn't that the very party that had harassed him endlessly a thousand years ago?
How were they still around after a thousand years?
Later, Rhein learned that the world had changed.
Magic had declined, and only thirty percent of the land was habitable. The rest was wasteland and ruins. The only way to get food and water was to climb the Tower.
The White Tower that stretched across the continent.
This Hero's Party was one of the oldest groups at the foot of the Tower.
They still kept their old name: the Demon-Slaying Party.
And the Demon King they were supposed to slay...
Had now become the one who needed the most protection in the party.
The Demon King vaguely remembered that several core members of the party were long-lived races.
Elves, dragonkin, demigods... To them, a thousand years was no more than the time it took to go from a boy to a young man.
If he calculated correctly...
They were young now.
Younger than the "child" body the Demon King was in.
