(The names in the blurb may change, but the core premise of the "useless secret identities" will stay the same.)
Ke Wei wins access to a certain game's trial version, and the System gives him several secret identities:
A homeless orphan with an intellectual disability, an unemployed man with depression, a down-on-his-luck young master with a murder case hanging over him, and a teenage robber about to go to prison.
As the saying goes, you get what you pay for.
Ke Wei: "These secret identities are all useless. There's no fun in playing like this. How is your company still in business?"
System: "Dear player, our game is all about playing for free. There's no spending money at all. Collect story points to draw more secret identities and unlock different endings!"
Ke Wei: "Now that's a game with a conscience. Love it!"
What should you do when your secret identities are too useless? Top player Boss Ke says: "Give me the pen! I'll write it myself!"
[Arkham Asylum: A white-haired boy lies bound in chains, covered in wounds. Before his consciousness fades, he remembers the Bluebird vigilante leaving him behind at the orphanage years ago, his silhouette receding into the distance.]
[The disgraced former congressman, falsely accused, clings to his mad obsession with his ideals and leaps from the Gotham Bridge he loves. The Dark Knight found Gotham her Knight of Light, only to witness his fall once again.]
[The young master of a fallen family is brought to court. Facing the charge of "killing his own family," he has already lost all hope. Then a red bird swoops down from the sky, and he is convinced it is a messenger from God sent to judge him. To earn God's salvation, he can only burn himself to prove his innocence.]
[A boy born in Crime Alley is saved by a man wearing a red helmet and accepts his guidance. But misfortune strikes, and a watcher lurking in the dark comes for him. With his consciousness sealed inside an immortal body, the boy looks at his bloodstained hands, despair filling his bright blue eyes.]
Ke Wei: "Um... I feel like something's still missing."
The System, teary-eyed: "Please, stop! That's not how the game's story is supposed to go!"
Theme: The spirit of pursuing justice will never die.
