Young Master, You Haven't Regretted It, Have You?

[Childhood sweethearts, but then a groveling pursuit after the breakup]

Mu Qiao's memories have included Feng Yu since she was three.

She knew her own abilities. Though people praised her literary talent, her limited experience meant she could only write poems of longing, and in neat hairpin script. One day, she would become a gentle wife and the mistress of a household.

She also knew why she had been away from the capital for these past four years.

And then there was Feng Yu.

She had been his childhood sweetheart for more than a decade.

More than that, she was the fiancée he had been promised to at an early age.

In her heart, it was perfectly clear that the two of them could only ever be friends, and could never fall in love. That made everything simple.

Mu Qiao had always thought Feng Yu understood this, and knew their engagement was a sensible choice. At the very least, their temperaments matched, and they had grown up together. Even after four years apart, they were still a better match than countless couples married by their parents without ever meeting.

But he was so annoying, bringing up breaking off the engagement every few days.

She suspected that the passage of time had changed everything, and eventually she no longer wanted to keep arguing about it.

So, on a sunny day, Mu Qiao watched a fledgling take flight beneath the bright sunlight, turned around, and agreed to his proposal.
