He reached out cautiously, intending to say, "Hello, excuse me, could I get by?"
But somehow, he blurted out, "Sweetie, excuse me."
After a friend stood him up, he went to the movies alone. A mischievous kid in the seat beside him kicked the back of the chair and laughed. The woman next to the kid angrily turned around and glared.
Chen Huayuan glanced at her frown, then turned back to shush the little brat. "Quiet, little mouth."
The woman looked over at him in surprise.
Chen Huayuan: Oh no, I really need to break that kindergarten-teacher habit of mine...

Their colleagues were astonished to discover that the new boss and the new head of the technical department seemed to have a thing going on.

Chen Huayuan sat in his office chair, wearing Qiao Ji's favorite tie, looking as if he were ready for the taking. He thought to himself: Hehe, we're the only two people in the office. Qiao Ji, come give me a kiss.
Qiao Ji: "Boss, is there a work issue you need help with?"
Chen Huayuan froze, then shook his head.
Qiao Ji frowned at him, then turned and walked out of the office.
As soon as the office door opened, Chen Huayuan blurted out, "Sweetie, wait a second."
He was rewarded with a glare from Qiao Ji.
At home:
Sitting on the sofa with his head nestled in the crook of her shoulder, Chen Huayuan got his revenge by whispering "Sweetie" in Qiao Ji's ear ten times.
Chen Huayuan: We're home now. We can stop pretending.
Qiao Ji tilted her head and patted his cheek. "Quiet, little mouth."
