The Ghost King Looks at Me Funny

Three hundred years ago, Yin Wuyan, the first disciple of Guiyuan Sect, slaughtered everyone in the sect, burned his own body, and became a Ghost King.

After that, the righteous sects declined, and the world's living beings suffered.

As the leader of the righteous path, Yan Zhaoli had carved the duty to destroy evil and defend the righteous into her bones. Her greatest wish in life was to kill the infamous Ghost King of Wufeng Mountain.

At eighteen, while out on a trial, she mistakenly entered the Soul-Devouring Realm. On the brink of death, she was saved by a black-haired, red-eyed man.

Everyone knew the Ghost King of Wufeng Mountain wore dark robes and had black hair and red eyes.

Yan Zhaoli thought she'd escaped one danger only to fall into another. But when their eyes met, the cold-blooded, bloodthirsty Ghost King stared at her in a daze, his eyes gradually clouding with tears, as if he'd lost his senses.

Later, Yan Zhaoli came across a blood-soaked young man on the road. She took him in and cared for him, and the two gradually grew close, until...

By chance, she saw the Ghost Realm's protector kneeling respectfully before the young man, addressing him as "My Lord."

The young man turned to look at her, a hard-to-read emotion flashing through his eyes.

The illusion faded, and his pitch-black eyes slowly turned blood-red. The corner of his mouth lifted in a smile, yet he seemed on the verge of shedding tears of blood.

"So you've found out," he sighed, placing a dagger in her hand. In a hoarse voice, he asked, "A Li, do you want to kill me?"
