Hard to Obtain

A quiet, devoted poor boy x a beautiful, kind-hearted, soft girl

When Chi Zhi was fifteen, she fell seriously ill. Her parents prayed for her recovery and sponsored a poor student from a mountainous region.

The day the student arrived at her home, he wore an old T-shirt washed almost white and jeans that were much too short, exposing his pale, thin ankles. On his feet was a pair of worn-out sneakers.

He stood in the living room beneath the bright lights, eyes lowered and thin lips pressed together. Yet he stood tall and straight, like a young bamboo stalk.

Chi Zhi had a soft heart. She felt sorry for all the hardship he had endured as a child, and saved every delicious treat and fun toy for him. She never imagined that in the end, she would raise a wolf.

A new transfer student arrived at Lincheng No. 1 High School. Quiet and withdrawn, from a poor family, he ranked first in his year on every exam, yet seemed to desire nothing, like a learning machine.

Then one day, someone saw the usually silent and reserved boy kneeling on one knee, eyes lowered as he tied the school belle's shoelaces.

I once looked up at you from a place of humility, longing for you through countless sleepless nights. Only when I stood by your side did I finally earn the right to kiss you.

I tasted every kind of bitterness this world has to offer. After meeting you, the rest of my life has been sweet.
