The Lady Is Frail

Lin Miaomiao grew up among bandits. As the fearsome young leader of their stronghold, she had a very comfortable life.

Then one day, her godmother told her with a worried look that she was the heroine of a book. In the story, she was the frail canary of the regent. She ran, he pursued her, and after a torturous romance, she gave birth to the next emperor.

Now the plot had gone badly off course. She had to give birth to that emperor for the world to return to normal.

Lin Miaomiao thought it over, confident she had a plan. "Don't worry, Godmother."

Half a year after going down the mountain, she came back with a big belly.

"Since my son is destined to become an emperor for the ages, he can build his own empire once he grows up."

Xie Yuan fell for a young woman. She was alone and helpless, with clear, innocent eyes like a little deer's, so delicate and lovable.

She was just a little too timid and weak.

"Your walls are so high. I'm scared..."

"I'm scared when you don't smile..."

"I'm scared without a child to protect me..."

Xie Yuan's heart softened. He reined in his violent temper and indulged her in everything.

He settled her at a manor outside the city, hired a governess to teach her etiquette and household management, and arranged a new identity for her. He was set on marrying her.

When she suddenly disappeared, he searched for her like a madman, afraid she was trapped or being mistreated... Whenever he closed his eyes, he saw her weeping miserably.

A year later, they met again on a street in Yangzhou.

His timid, delicate girl had one foot planted on the face of an arrogant young noble. A bloodied dagger flashed in her hand as she swaggered, fierce and brazen. "This auntie wants to know: are you scared or not?"
