Their first meeting was at Wunongding Viewing Platform on Meili Snow Mountain, at an elevation of 6,740 meters, beneath the golden sunlight and veils of mist.

As the prayer wheel turned clockwise at the Shangri-La station, Song Lianyi said, "Big Sis, I hope you get everything you wish for."

Their next meeting was at a newly opened flower shop called Autumn Hues. A brief exchange of "What a coincidence, it's you" led to four years of entanglements.

Their final reunion was at a Chinese restaurant in San Francisco. The unspoken "It's been so long" melted into the corn and pork rib soup. As night fell, a stubborn figure rushed into her arms, and a jumble of kisses sealed their joy at meeting again after so long.

"I want you to understand that people who meet are bound to meet again."
