Peach Blossom Spring

Short historical romance. Blurb is provisional, screenshot saved on 2023.4.16.

Ling Yunhe disliked the little mute who had recently arrived at the academy more than anyone.

He was small and skinny, with delicate features and a pitiful background. People often bullied him until his eyes filled with tears, yet he couldn't speak and had not an ounce of manliness.

After being bullied, he would still go to his tormentors with food in hand, like a stray dog with nowhere to go.

Ling Yunhe had been annoyed by him for a long time. One day, he happened to see the boy being bullied again. Finally, he couldn't take it anymore. He kicked the useless thing into the clear-water canal behind the academy, then beat the bullies until they were scattered in every direction.

Before leaving, he shot the "stray dog" in the canal a disdainful glance.

But the skinny fellow's usually loose clothes were soaked through, clinging to his slender figure. He looked up at Ling Yunhe with a pale little face, and a drop of water slowly fell from his eye with a soft plop.

Ling Yunhe went rigid.

From then on, the arrogant young man had a little mute shadow following him everywhere.
