[Old Flame Rekindled] [Marriage First, Love Later] [From Indifference to Devotion]
Shi Miao and Mu Yunqing are in a marriage of convenience.
They marry in name, but their relationship is a transaction. They agree to treat each other as equals and benefit mutually.
On the day they sign the contract, Shi Miao sits obediently with her legs together on the west-side sofa in Mu Yunqing's spacious private office. Beyond the huge glass curtain wall, the sun is just rising, its light warming her faintly flushed cheeks. Facing a mature man, the young and inexperienced girl feels awkward and out of her depth.
"Have you made up your mind?" Mu Yunqing asks in a steady, firm voice.
"Yes." Shi Miao's fingers turn pale as she grips the heavy, gold-embossed pen and signs her name.
The private lawyer beside them speaks without emotion. "Mr. Mu's one request is that you don't cling to him when the contract ends."
"All right."
[Neither of them could have predicted what came later: the aloof, cold-hearted man was consumed by a rekindled passion.]
