After Passing the Celestial Civil Service Exam, I Want to Quit Every Day

In recent years, the trend of taking civil service exams has spread to the Celestial Court. Even the immortals are caught up in the rat race, yet the God of the Year Star just can't recruit anyone. There's only one reason: Yin Jiao, the Great Marshal of the Year Star, is cold and unnerving, with a fearsome reputation. The few employees left at the Year Star Residence are worked like oxen and horses, pushed to their limits. They go to their big boss, the Jade Emperor, and make a huge fuss, threatening to hang themselves. Unable to bear the disturbance, the Jade Emperor picks a name from the list of failed candidates, just to get some peace and quiet.

Zhu Yu has no lofty ambitions and just wants to lie flat. After slacking off for five hundred years, his parents finally drag him by the ears and force him to take the civil service exam. He misses out on a permanent position by one point. On the day the results are posted, his mother cries, his father curses, and his grandfather beats him. The little dragon egg is instantly pitiful. Just then, the Celestial Court's Personnel Office sends word, asking if he'd be willing to accept a vacant position. A windfall has come to the Zhu family. His mother stops crying, his father stops cursing, and his grandfather stops beating him. They all stare at him with shining eyes.

Zhu Yu: ...Yes, yes, I accept!

But when Zhu Yu is sent off to start his new job amid the family's joyful farewells, he discovers that his workplace is none other than the renowned Year Star of the Dipper Residence. And his direct supervisor is none other than Yin Jiao, the Great Marshal of the Year Star, whom everyone in the Three Realms goes out of their way to avoid.

Zhu Yu: ...

Jade Emperor above, I quit!!!
