In the 1980s, This Cannon Fodder Refuses to Be a Foil

[Saving to Favorites]

Xia Yunkai is the male supporting character who serves as a foil to the protagonist in a novel.

He and the male lead, Wen Yuezhou, were born just ten minutes apart, yet were compared at every turn, with Xia always coming off worse. Wen Yuezhou went on to college and a bright future, while Xia was left to endure gossip and die far from home.

Xia Yunkai hated him.

He hated him for being two-faced and getting Xia scolded by his parents.

He hated him for living under someone else's roof yet remaining so proud.

He hated him for saying one thing and feeling another, always keeping silent.

He hated him...

Xia Yunkai died.

Then he came back to life.

Exhausted in body and mind from the chaos and tangled love and hatred of his past life, Xia Yunkai decided to give up and coast. Anyone who wanted to play the foil could have the job.

Just as he was playing the obedient son and planning to get along with Wen Yuezhou like brothers, the former model student turned into a delinquent, getting into fights, skipping class, writing love letters, and possibly being gay.

"Xia Yunkai, I like you."

Is this right???

Was he the one who had been reborn, or had Wen Yuezhou been possessed?

[Mutual pining, both reborn]
