[This novel will be completed tomorrow (7/26), starting from Chapter 22. The entire novel will cost only 2.7 RMB. Thank you for supporting the official version, and thank you!]
Note: This is my first novel and has quite a few rough edges. Think carefully before buying the whole thing, or you'll pay for a lesson (serious face).
A recommendation for my friend's novel, Myriad Forms
(A beautiful female lead, frail and sickly yet passionate about life, easygoing and kind x a male lead who takes an unconventional path, has overwhelming possessiveness, and a dark sense of humor)
[My new novel next door, The Cannon Fodder Concubine Got a Foodie Script, is now available! Its blurb is at the very bottom.]
Thanks to her inherited culinary talent, Meng Qingyi and her father did pretty well during the apocalypse.
Plenty of people were willing to pay with money or supplies just to eat a meal at their little makeshift restaurant.
Just when Meng Qingyi thought they would go on like this, an explosion killed her in the eighth year of the apocalypse.
Then she opened her eyes and found herself in ancient times, in the body of another Meng Qingyi, who had just been sold by her father into a wealthy household.
·
When she learned she was now a side wife in a wealthy household, Meng Qingyi thought of the ninety-nine stories of domestic intrigue she'd read before and thought, I barely got my life back. Don't drag me into this.
Then she discovered that the household's madam was so frail she had to catch her breath every few steps and would faint after a few more. She almost never left her courtyard and was weaker than people who couldn't find food during the apocalypse.
Forget setting rules for her, she could barely stand herself.
Her husband, whom she had never met, was apparently a workaholic who almost never set foot in the rear courtyards. His only job was to make money outside.
Great. A proper husband should be as good as dead.
There was no mother-in-law or aunt to deal with, either. She was practically the most important person in the household.
Meng Qingyi: Yay! Time to make lemon chicken feet!
·
At first, the smell of chicken stew from a clay-pot stove wafted through the courtyard.
The servants drooled and couldn't focus on their work.
A few days later, the smell of hot-and-sour noodles filled the courtyard.
The madam, who was deathly ill, dragged herself over.
After that, the courtyard filled with the scent of all kinds of bread.
The man rumored to live in his study walked over calmly.
But hey, you anorexic guy, that's already your third buttery croissant!
[Blurb]
Shu Yun, a martial arts instructor, accidentally transmigrated into an old-fashioned novel and took up her old trade by opening a martial arts school.
But could someone explain this ridiculous plot to her?
The heroine falls for Shu Yun's older brother, which leads the obsessive male lead to target her relentlessly?
Her father dies of anger, her mother is bedridden, and her older brother is sent away to become an official, only to die unexpectedly?
The whole family is left with nothing but their underwear?
And on top of all that, they die on the road while returning to their hometown?
Shu Yun: ...The heroine's love sure is "heavy"?
So what if she got stuck with a cannon-fodder script? Running a martial arts school is her old line of work!
·
The Shu family's martial arts school in Ling'an City suddenly became famous, with customers streaming in and out. Every weapon they designed started a new trend in the city.
Her career was soaring, but then she "crashed" at the hands of her bookkeeper.
He looked gentle and harmless, but his mind was actually full of...
Beneath his refined, handsome appearance, he hid his true nature. Yet all he did every day was queue up to buy her favorite pastries.
Shu Yun: What devious scheme are you plotting now?
With a handsome man in her arms and her martial arts school flourishing,
her career and love life were both thriving. Life couldn't be better.
[Bonus scene]
One day, while Shu Yun was chatting with the original heroine, she suddenly said, "I saw my older brother yesterday."
Shu Yun: "...In a dream?"
After all, in the book, her older brother had died young. He must have appeared to her in a dream.
Original heroine: "...Of course I saw him at home!"
Shu Yun: So he didn't die?
As Shu Yun was about to leave, the heroine walked her to the door. She caught sight of someone familiar and looked unable to stay calm. The heroine spoke first:
"Big brother!"
Shu Yun: So I'm the one who saved his life?
[A forthright, rough-around-the-edges woman in public, a ruthless and confident queen in private x a seemingly stubborn and cold man who is actually a gentle, thoughtful gentleman]
Reader's guide:
1. Set in an imaginary dynasty, with a mix of different conventions. Don't overanalyze the details.
2. The original male lead will be portrayed negatively.
3. The heroine isn't a good person in the traditional sense.
4. The story will include some food-related plotlines.
5. The male lead is gentle and easygoing only in front of the heroine.
See the author's note in Chapter 1 for specific content warnings.
Theme: Work hard to create a good life.
Scientific research shows that once a person has love, his IQ and EQ will increase by 95%, and his worries will disappear by 95%. But here comes the question, where does love come from? Scientists refused to say, leaving only a string of strange symbols: Diandian next door has pre-released "The Cannon Fodder Concubine After Taking the Gourmet Script"
How to say it? I think the male protagonist is the same as his father. The man killed his mother, but his father said that his sister (born to the person who killed his mother) should be recorded in his mother's name. Considering that he had a good relationship with his fiancée, he agreed. Haha, has he considered his mother? Although Song didn't love her, who would want the child of the person who killed him to be in his name and step on her? This male protagonist's father? He knows who killed her. Is he worthy of his wife if he sleeps with her and has children? Because she is his daughter, I want to know what he would do if she was not his daughter but had a conscience?
Really, it hit me, don't be afraid of being scolded, let the masterpiece be born in the garbage heap, don't belittle yourself, it's good, at least I like the direction of the story and the description of the characters, it's great!
It ended so suddenly haha
I saw what the author had to say... I suddenly felt a little worried about the author's mental state, hahahahahahaha, author, are you okay?
I feel like the story is not over yet. I hope the author can continue with a sequel one day?
What?! What was written so well ended so suddenly?! Not good
The ending caught me off guard
It seems that it suddenly disappeared in the middle of writing. The relationship between the male and female protagonists has just begun. At least the scene of the two getting married is described before it is finished. The career line has just begun.
I thought it was the business bureau, but it turned out...
